Chapter 6 - Cheater, Cheater, Pumpkin Eater
Christmas Break came and went. The school year was quite uneventful too. So now, it's the last day at Hogwarts until summer break.
"'Mione! Where's my trunk?" I asked.
"No idea. Look for it, get off your lazy butt!" she laughed.
"Found it!" I called. It was under my bed. Silly me, how could I have missed that? "I'm going to look for Fred now," I announced, then left.
I was walking down the hall and heard two people snogging. "Ew," I thought. I only found it acceptable when it came to me and Fred. Because we snogged ALOT. I kept walking though. After about a half hour later I walked back down the same corridor, and the couple snogging (or I figured it was the same couple) we're still there, making as much noise as ever. Then I heard two words that shattered my heart.
"Oh, Fred," Angelina Johnson called out from the exact spot I heard the snogging.
"Angelina, I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather be snogging. You're so gorgeous and amazing. I love you," Fred moaned back.
"So you're sure that Rose means nothing to you?" she questioned.
"She was to make you jealous, angel. I love you. I always have," he replied.
"Oh Fred! God I love you!" I heard her say, then they went back to snogging, as hard as ever. I ran. I couldn't hear it anymore.
I wailed the password when I got to the portrait, then ran to my room and flopped on my bed, sobbing my eyes out.
"Rose?" Hermione called.
"Go away! Life isn't fair," I cried.
"What happened?" she sat down next to me and started rubbing my back to calm me down.
"Fred...Angelina...snogging...corridor...he said he never loved me and always loved her!" I was bawling like a baby.
"Why that little punk! I'll go get George, he'll know what to do," Hermione growled, then left.
What did I do to deserve this? I was always faithful. I was a good girlfriend. I'd let him go out with his friends, I was never jealous, because I thought he only loved me. Turns out he never loved me in the first place.
"Rosie! Rosie oh my gosh, my brother is a git and I didn't know and this is all my fault and I love you like a sister and I hate seeing you cry and all my fault oh no - " George rambled on and on.
"Georgie! NONE of this is your fault. Your brother is a git and it's all his fault. And that wretched Angelina Johnson," I sat up and hugged him.
"Well, what if she put him under a Love Potion?" he suggested.
"Good point. We'll ask them the basic questions," I agreed, then we headed off to the corridor.
Once we got there, they were still snogging. We couldn't see them yet, but we could just tell. She was moaning, he was, sucking, I think. That's what it sounded like. Just listening to them made my eyes brim over with tears. George wiped them away with his thumb.
"You'll get through this, Rosie. You're strong," he whispered to me. I nodded, then, interlinked with George's arm (to help me from falling on the ground and bawling my eyes out) we headed around the corner to where they were snogging.
Angelina pulled away from him once she saw us. "Oh look Freddie, you're EX-girlfriend and your twin brother came by to say hello," she smirked.
Fred looked at me, glared, smirked, then began talking to George. "Y'know, Georgie, I decided that I wasn't going to let you have the love of my life. You can have my sloppy seconds. I love Angelina with all my heart. More than anyone. So, sucks to be you. Because she loves me back, and she snogs WAY better than Rose here. Now I'll show you what you're missing." He stuck his tongue out, and shoved it Angelina's mouth. Their tongues were intertwined, biting each other when they got the chance. He was so rough with her.
"We stopped by to ask you a few questions, Fred. Number one; When did you decide that you loved Angelina?" George asked him. He had his hand around my waist so I wouldn't break down.
"Um, I don't remember..." Fred trailed off into thought. This was a good sign. People under love potions NEVER remember when or why they loved someone else.
"Okay, number two. What do you love about Angelina?"
"I don't know..."
"Last one. What's your last name?"
" I don't...I really don't know!" He stammered. That proved it. Whenever someone is under a love potion, they don't remember anything about anyone but the person they "fell in love" with.
"Okay Fred, you have to come with me," I said.
"I'm not going anywhere. I love Angelina so I'm going to snog her. Right now," he shot.
"Fine," George said. "I'm taking Fred, Rosie. You can take care of Angelina," he laughed.
"Can do Georgie," I winked.
"Right then Fred, I'm sorry about doing this," George apologized, then punched Fred in the face, knocking him out. He swung Fred over his shoulder and said, "I guess I'm off to find a LOVE POTION ANTIDOTE. Bye Rosie, have fun!" then ran away.
I turned to face Angelina. "You. Are. SUCH. A. Bitch," I growled.
"Look here, Rose," she said slowly. "Fred WILL be mine. He loves me. And he knows it. I just gave him some, extra help."
I punched her in the nose, knocking her to the ground. "I hope it's broken, you whore," I spat, kicked her in the thigh, then walked away.
After I filled in Hermione on what happened, she congratulated me. "Way to go Rosie! She deserved it."
Just then, Fred walked in. I glared at him. George saw this and brought me off to the side. "He got it from a swig of pumpkin juice she gave him. He doesn't remember any of it. Please give him another chance, Rosie. He truly loves you, I swear."
"I'm going to my room," I whimpered, then ran upstairs.
I was on my bed hugging my pillow when Fred walked in. "I can't believe you," I told him.
"Rose Mary Austough. I love you more than Romeo loved Juilet. I need you more than I need air. I want you more than any girl in the enitre world, ESPECIALLY Angelina. Please forgive me, love," he pleaded.
I looked at him. "How do I know she won't try it again? I love you Fred. Please, don't take ANYTHING else from her. Or her friends."
"I won't love," he swore. Then we snogged for a while. And the whole time, I was glad that he was here to stay.
