Lucy Grew Up

Chapter 9

"You didnt show me the answer", Ashton comes running out from the hallway.
"I was suppose to show you the answers, huh?", Lucy confused.
"Yeah! Who else would"
"I don't know. I was very consumed in thinking and when Jane could see how couldn't you?"
"Your sheet wasn't visible"
"Mister you need spectacles if you can't see a paper from a bench away"
"How did your test go Ash?", Kate interrupts
"It went fine, Katherine. Lucy didn't show me one answer. Meanie bowinie", Ashton goofingly smiled at Lucy who was talking to Jane.
"It's not my fault he needs spectacles", Lucy snapped
"Well Lucy is right you know you could've seen it. But i was besides you so you could've asked me", Kate sounded very enthusiastic
"Um yeah i forgot... oh hey Jackie my man. Bye ladies", Ashton runs away.

"Geez what's his problem! Why are you Lucy and I'm Katherine", Kate sounded offended.
"Now don't get jealous", Lucy and Jane laughed at Kate's red face.

Two days later

"Let's join all the tables and make a big table", Veronica suggested.
"That's a good idea. Come on Lucy help us", Elizabeth called out to Lucy who had just entered the Cafeteria with Kate and Jane.
"Sure! It'll be so good if all of us will sit together".
"I'm gonna sit there", Kate puts her bag on the corner chair besides it on one side Lucy's and on other side Jane's.

"Ashton! Jared!", Veronica calls out.
"Yeah?", Jared comes to the table while Ashton comes to Lucy

Jared Peterberg is a tall  and broad muscular lad who wears his squary spectacles over his Black eyes which have a small red spot in one. He is a genius. He is one of the finest students in class. And butter factory too..

"Hold on to my bag while i go pray", Ashton hands over his  bright green bag to Lucy.
"Okay. Pray for me as well"
"Yeah pray for me too", Kate calls out
"Me three", Veronica and Mandy call out
"I'll pray for Lucy surely", Ashton smiled and went away. Everyone turned to Lucy who was turning red due to Blush. She couldn't believe a handsome lad who girls die after was openly flirting with an ordinary nerd like her.

"Stella! Stella!", Lucy marched in the room screaming.
"Woah woah what happened?", Stella came out of her washroom wearing her bathrobe.
"You know what Ashton is stupid he is an idiot like what does he think of himself he is a weirdo he calls my sister hot and now he openly flirts with me what is his problem"
"Woah woah woah! He called me Hot! Like how could you not tell me this!"
"Your worried about him calling you Hot! Hello major highlight crisis a hottie flirting with your ugly sister. He is toying with me"
Stella looked at Lucy who was breathless.
"Your not ugly!", Stella went to Lucy and hugged her.
"Sweetie! You're not ugly. You're beautiful. You have a lovely nature and radiating persona. How can you think a hot handsome guy won't like you?"

"Because I am Lucinda. I am not Katherine or Jane or You. I am Lucinda. I don't deserve a handsome lad like Ashton", by now Lucy was about to cry. Stella hugged her tightly.

"Hey enough of it. Katherine and Jane are just slim and they put up a show. They try catching attention. While you my dorky goof caught someone's eyes by being you", Stella let out a sigh and continued while Lucy rests her head on her lap "Dorky you have inspired me. You were mocked. You were teased for been chubby, for having bad fashion sense, for been a dork your entire childhood; but you still grew. If i were you God knows what i would had done. I wouldn't be alive maybe right now but you survived. Now if a guy likes you for you what's wrong? Don't get attached to him but let him be your friend. What say?"
"Um i guess your right", Lucy stammered.
"Huh maybe? Your Stella Carter Hales sister you are destined for Prince Charming", both sisters laughed.

Lucy loved how her sister was there to calm her down and not let her drown in her insecurities. She admired her sister for been so humble and strong.
Stella though was a heart-throb but she went through a ugly childhood like her lil sister but she never let it overcome her sister like it did for her.

This chapter was to tell that Ashton is now on flirting terms which has awakened Lucy's insecurities. And how Stella deals with it so maturely.
