A Deal with the Devil

1 - Mum, Dad I Graduated!

Mum, Dad I Graduated!  

The principal handed my diploma and patted my shoulder. "You got it"

I looked him in the eyes and smiled nodding at what he had said. I shook his hand and walked off the stage walking towards Daniella. Everyone was in a row waiting for them to take their diploma's so it was me squeezing myself through the crowd.

Daniella shot me a smile and I hugged her. "I can't believe we're going to study in new york together!" Putting emphasis on together. I was just so happy nothing could ruin this day. It was a perfect beginning of summer vacation.

I was thinking about how happy I was that I was finally to come and live with her when my thoughts got cut off by Daniella's voice.

"Where are your parents Anna?"

I looked back and put on a fake smile when I began to speak up. ''my mum has gotten the flu so my dad stayed with her''

Daniella took my hand and nodded to my respond. She knew my mum had illness all the time, I always thought it was because she was stressed than she got mad and told me not to worry. Guess I stopped asking by than. I looked behind me to find a bunch of parents watching their kids graduate. I looked down and let out a big sigh. I really wanted my parents here, but my mum's health was more important. I looked to my right and something in my stomach flipped.

''Excuse me'' I quickly said pushing back the chairs. I really needed to go to the bathroom. I don't know what it was but It felt like I got a stomach ache. I quickly pushed myself through the crowd and walked into school. I looked at the toilets and of course they were all covered with toilet paper and what not, It was our last day, I looked at it and spotted a few people hanging more stuff on the doors. I walked around them and pushed open the door. 

I washed my hands and looked in the mirror. I prayed this was going to be over I mean I was supposed to be happy today but something just made me not. For sakes I was graduating and had practically summer vacation, I should be jumping around like a little kid. 

For a minute I cooled down and felt someone knock on the door. I made myself look presentable and opened the door. ''Anna what happened'' I heard Daniella call out. I quickly turned around and waved for her to come. 

''my stomach'' I said and she looked at me with the omg-look. And I shook my head.

''Im not on my period Dani'' And smiled, oh luckily I wasn't. I swear that would be a low blow. Not on my graduation day. 

We walked together as our arms were entwined. ''Last day here'' She mouthed to me and I smiled. ''Last day of being a high-schooler'' I said as we walked outside. 

There were a few people left in the row and we slowly walked towards our seats. I made sure I was distracting myself so I found myself talking to Daniella, rambling about why and what.

A few minutes later Daniella stood up and made sure I was also standing. ''You weren't listening!'' I groaned, she just responded by laughter and held her hand on my mouth. ''Enjoy your day'' Was all she said and I took off her hands and was completely quiet.. Okay I may admit I was quite rambling a lot and it may have been boring. 

Sigh.

"Its time! Its time!" She said smiling. I looked up seeing as it was actually time for us to throw our hat in the air. I looked at her and smiled, but said nothing.  I smiled and couldn't wait, actually I was thrilled. I was finally going to graduate, mum and dad knew how much I wanted this. My parents were very proud of me, and hell I was too because I had actually worked very hard for this.
