Chapter Title: The News of a Fireafy Child! Part Two!
Firey's POV:
I was taking down Christmas decorations one afternoon in January while Leafy was making lunch."Hey, Firey?" I heard Leafy ask.
"Hmm?" I responded.
"Guess what today is."
"Uh... I've got no clue..." I said. If it's really important, I'm screwed.
"I'm going to the doctor's again."
"Oh yeah... Wait, why?"
"To find out the gender of our child, silly!" Leafy's laughed.
"Oh yeah! Yes, I've been waiting for this day!" I exclaimed, Leafy laughing a bit.
"I'm sure our little Lily will be beautiful," Leafy stated.
"What? I think you mean Felix," I responded.
"Yeah, right," she said sarcastically, but smiled. I got down the last of the decorations, well, almost. There's still mistletoe hanging from the chandelier (heh, my idea).
"Can't we just leave that up?" I asked.
"Ha, no silly. It's a Christmas thing! We're not leaving it there. Besides, it's not like I'll only kiss you when we're under it," Leafy laughed. I smiled.
"It's so high up though... No one will notice it," I told her.
"Seriously? I can see it from the next room over!" Leafy said.
"Okay, okay, I'll take it down," I said, then got the ladder. While we were dating, she would always hang up and get down the mistletoe, since I'm not a fan of heights, but since she's pregnant, it's too risky. She could fall. So now I'm doing it.
"I'll hold the ladder steady, don't worry. You didn't fall when you put it up. You'll be fine," Leafy reassured me, walking to the ladder, then holding it steady. I nervously climbed up the ladder, got down the mistletoe, then quickly scrambled down the ladder. Once I was back on solid ground, I smiled as I held the mistletoe over the two of us. She giggled a bit, then quickly kissed me.
"Just for the sake of doing it one last time until next Christmas," I said, smiling.
"Ha, c'mon, my appointment is in 30 minutes!" Leafy said excitedly. We got into our car, then I drove us to the appointment. Once we got there, we got out of the car and walked inside the building. We were taken to a room where Leafy was given another ultrasound. Healthy as ever.
"Alright Mr. and Mrs. Flame, would you like to know the gender?" the doctor asked. "Since some couples want it to be a surprise, I always ask first." Leafy and I looked at each other.
