Chapter 3 (General POV)

A/N 

Hey everyone who is still sticking by me and reading this story even if I haven't updated in YEARS. Yes. Years... Well, as I said in my previous A/N, I was busy as it was an important year or me in school. But then, college happened. I had to start preparing myself for the transition from school to college. Also, I had a history test IN COLLEGE during my second month there. Thankfully, I managed to do well in it. Anyway, sorry for the HUGE delay. I promise to start updating at least once every two weeks? So yeah! Enjoy chapter 3. Xoxo

Their journey to Joey's house has been... uneventful. Not by much. Kai and Rae said they had something on soon, so they had time for one more movie before they set off to wherever they were supposed to be. Honestly, Haven only believed Rae's excuse about going to church but she suspected Kai had to do something more than just a simple 'part-time job'.

They had decided that they'll be walking. They didn't want to wait for the bus, they felt that this situation is too serious for them to carry. Although Shane had stopped to treat everyone to some yummy ice-cream to lighten the mood. 

                 ••• Joey's house ••• 

"Joweeeee we're here! " yelled Shane as he burst through Joey's front door. Wolf and Storm came bounding up to them and Haven started squealing as she loves the dogs a LOT.

Daniel came with a straight face to them and told them to follow him up to the attic.

"Ooo are you and Joey going to murder us? " Haven said in a creepy voice.

" Ha-Ha very funny. Now, Joey has been staring at this piece of paper for 30 minutes now so it's nothing to laugh about ok guys? I know you always giggle at the worst moments. I bet at my funeral you'll be holding in laughter as well" Daniel said, trying hard not to laugh.

Meredith then poked him in the ribs and everyone bounded up the stairs, trying not to giggle and trip over one another. When they reached the attic, they saw a really sad Joey looking up at them.

"Guys, this letter. I - I... It's so weird. My mum wrote me this. I'm shaking. Read it yourself" Joey retorted as he passed the letter to Daniel.
 
Daniel then clears his throat and began to read the letter out loud,

" Joseph,

Now, I may be long gone when you're reading this. They took me away for an experiment. If I make it back, you'll never find this. If I don't, well, you are probably reading this right now. I have to also tell you something. This house... They gave it to you because I died and there was no one to protect you. Storm and Wolf included. They are always watching you Joey. ALWAYS. Be safe. Please. Remember, they're watching your every step. Tell your friends to watch out as well. I got to go Joey, my baby. They're coming for me. I love you. Goodbye.

Everyone was speechless. Daniel looked over to Joey and saw him tearing up.  He walked over to him and gave him a long hug, telling him that everything is going to be ok. All of a sudden, Shane stood up and cleared his throat,

"Guys, we have to let Joey and Daniel stay over at one of our places each week."

To that Joey said, "Wait what?! What about the dogs??"

" Screw the dogs, you saw what your mum said in the letter! They're a part of that stupid thing." Meredith said, trying to keep her calm.

"No, we have to bring the dogs. I don't care. We have a special bond with them. Joey, go down right now and start packing." Daniel said sternly which made everyone gasp as Daniel was not the type to get worked up. 

"Well, I guess it's a little to late for that" a voice said in monotone as everyone suddenly felt faint. The last thing they saw as they fell to the ground was a dark figure, looming over them. Watching.
