Chapter Four: New Town and Old People
Slowly coming to, Emmalee felt herself being shaken. Reaching up, she pulled off her headphones to hear what was being said. "Wake up, Emmalee, we're here!" She heard her mom say. Nodding her head, she opened her eyes only to immediately close them due to the bright sunlight. After slowly letting them get used to the sun, she looked around before finally settling them on the house in front of her. No, house was not a good word to describe it. It was more of a mini mansion.
It was two stories and had lots of windows. The house wasn't very tall but it was long in length. There was a balcony all along the second story, and looked more elegant then anything Emma thought she would live in, or see.
"You like?"
Emmalee was so amazed at the house, she jumped at the sound of Jenni's voice. "Huh?" She said, a little confused before she understood what her mom asked. "Oh, yes! It's amazing! But are we going to be living here?" She asked, unsure.
"Uh-huh, this is where I used to live. But now it's just my mother. Come on, lets get inside." Jenni said, motioning towards the house. Emmalee had met her grandma before, but usually she had come to them on the holidays, so this is the first time to see where she lived.
Following her mom towards the door, Jenni knocked before opening the door and stepping into the grand foyer. Only then, did a glamorous woman waltz into the room. "Grandma!" Emmalee yelled, before running over to hug the woman that was the only family she had left, besides her mom.
Letting out a laugh, the woman, Annabella, said, "How are you dolcezza?"
"Good. I've missed you!" Emma says, giving her grandmother another hug. The only place she can ignore all the insults is when she's with her family.
Chuckling, Annebella replied, "It hasn't been that long, Lee-Lee, I visited last month!"
"I know, I know. I just miss you..." Emmalee muttered back, before asking the question on her mind. "You own and live in this house?"
"Yes. It's been in the family for a long time, and I hope to give it to you one day so you can live in it with the sexy man you marry." Annabella raises her eyebrow suggestively, and winks.
"Grandma!" Emma bursts out, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink as she thinks of the only guy she's ever loved.
"I'm just teasing dolcezza. Why don't you two go set your things in your rooms, then we'll go into town to go shopping, and meet some people."
"Sounds good." Emma's mom says before they head upstairs and each find a room they like while setting their bags in there.
Emmalee looks around her room, taking it all in. It has plain white walls, but she can paint them later. With a small sitting area off to the side, with a tv, and a queen size bed in the middle of the room. She sees two doors and goes into one. It's a huge bathroom with a shower and a jacuzzi tub, with a sink and toilet. She then goes into the other door to reveal a walk in closet. Emma gapes at the massive size of it.
Emma walks back out to her bed and lays down on it. She can feel herself falling asleep quickly again.

"Lee-Lee hurry up!" Annabella yells up to her.
"Coming!" She runs down the stairs and out to her grams Chevrolet Camaro. "Wow grams, I didn't expect you to have a car like this."
"Just because I'm a bit older doesn't mean I have to act like it." She smiles before they head off into town, to go shopping.

"Okay, I've had enough grams! My feet and hands hurt, and I need to eat!" Emma finally said, after hours of shopping. Dropping her bags, she flopped down on the nearest bench.
"I swear with how you act you'd think that I was younger than you." Annabella mutters to herself.
"Fine, lets go get something to eat." Jenni said, with Annabella nodding along. They walk to the food court and each get a slice of pizza, and share a side of onion rings.
"With you guys here now I'm gonna become fat from all the cooking I'll be doing." Annabella says humorously.
"Don't worry mom." Jenni says. "Me and Emmalee will help out around the house." Emma nods her head in agreement.
"No, no, no. Maybe a little, but not much. I don't want you guys overworking yourselves."
"Oh please. All we ever do is eat take out and watch movies, right mom?" Emma asks.
Jenni chuckles, "Pretty much. Besides the other essentials of course." They fall into a peaceful silence as they eat their lunch.
"Jenni?" Someone suddenly says from behind them. They all turn around to see a couple probably around their mid 40's - early 50's.
"Oh my gosh Henry, Annie!" Jenni says and gets up to hug them both. "I didn't know you guys were in this area."
"Yeah, we lost touch after the war. But I think we've been here for about 10 years now. Geez my age is catching up with me! I can't even remember how long we've been here!" Annie says.
"It's been 13 years exactly honey." Henry says. Who are these people? Emmalee wonders.
As they go into conversation Emma sees someone standing behind the couple on their phone. He looks to be about her age, tall with tanned skin, and dark hair. He looks familiar though...
"Um mom who are these people?" Emma asks trying not to sound rude.
"You really don't remember them?"
"No?" Emma says, but it sounds more like a question.
"This is Henry and Annie Apollo! I can't believe you don't remember them Emma." The couple comes to her, and each gives her a tight hug which she gladly returns. "And I'm sure you remember Ryder." At the mention of his name she turns, and looks at the guy that she saw before. Her heart starts beating wildly at the mention of the guy she's loved since she was a child.
"Hey Lee."
