We travelled through the forest, looking for a settlement or city. We would only stop to rest once every 24 hours, despite our constant complaints to take a break. When we finally took a rest it was dark and everyone was dreaming and resting for the next day of travel. That is, most of us. Norfirion had two of his men to take watch for the whole night and every night he would rotate them around. Tonight I couldn't sleep so I volunteered along with Belelia to Join him. We only need two people but Norfirion would always insist on watching the camp, no matter how tired he is.
"Tolo anin naur(come near the fire)." Norfirion beckoned. "What is he saying, I do not know elvish." Belelia asked. "He said, Come near the fire." I replied. I did not know how I can understand elvish, but I do. It must be a natural skill for elves. Norfirion did not want to wait so he said "Av-'osto(do not be afraid)" "My friend Belelia can't speak elvish Norfirion." I acknowledge. "Can we speak in the language we all speak?" "Fine. It would have been interesting to see how you to react." He responded. "You remind me of someone I met along time ago. I can't picture where." I questioned to Norfirion. "I have not seen you in my travels." He replied. "Well If you don't mind, I'll be going to bed." Belelia interrupted. She then lay down and slept.
We were about to continue our conversation when a guard woke up and saw yellow eyes in the bushes. I strung my bow and had an arrow nocked when I saw our enemy. He looked somewhat of an elf, like an elf who has been mutated and tourchered. When he saw us, he started to attack. I loosed my arrow and it found it's mark in his heart. I heard more of them so I nocked and was prepared to shoot at whatever came in our path. A bunch of his kind came with bows, swords, and spears. I loosed arrow after arrow until they came to close for me to shoot them. I brought out my sword and fought them with Norfirion backing away and also firing arrow after arrow. I looked back and saw he ran out so he brought out his knives and fought back to where our camp is. Once they were all dead, we caught our breath and looked at our company who were staring at us too shocked to comprehend what happened.
