Chapter 2

Beep Beep Beep

I woke up to the ringing of my alarm. It was four in the morning. I untangled myself carefully from the twins as they both had their heads on my chest and get off the bed. I took a fresh pair of boxer along with a towel heading towards the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and took a bath. I wore my underwear then wrapped the towel around my waist and came out of the bathroom. I was more comfortable like this and it was not like someone will come in the room early in the morning. I took out two pairs of shorts,two shirts and kept it on the couch for Zan and Zach to wear for school. I started unpacking our stuffs. First I've arranged our clothes neatly in the wardrobe then I've put the twins and I's shampoos and body wash in the bathroom. Fifteen minutes was left till the twins had to wake up so I started playing my game candy crush on my phone. I've been playing this game since I was 11 years old. At half past seven,I stopped playing. I kept my mobile phone on the bedside table and went to wake up the twins.

"Zan, Zach come on wakie wakie."I said while shaking them lightly. They both shrugged and continued sleeping.

"Wake up before the tickles monster appear."I said in a childish voice. Immediately they were both awake screaming. I put my palm on their mouth and said "stop screaming aunt Elsa is probably still sleeping." I said

"So, who is excited for their first day at school?"I asked
"Me."Both Zan and Zach yell in unision.
"Go brush your teeth then take shower and don't fight."I said
"Okay." They replied and run to the bathroom. In the meanwhile I got dressed with a light green shirt and a pair of dark black jeans. When I was finished I took two towels then made my way to the bathroom only to see Zan and Zach sitting on the tiles playing with water."Stop playing or you'll be late for school." I told them sternly.Instantly they were i n front of me. I wrapped them in their towel then went in the room. I got them ready then combed their hair.

"Take your bags with you then we'll have breakfast." I told them while taking my watch and phone from the bedside table.We went downstairs where aunt Elsa was making breakfast and uncle Tony was nowhere to be seen.

"Good morning aunt Elsa."We said loudly while taking our seat.
"Good morning boys." Aunt Elsa replied while handing us our breakfast.
"How did you sleep?"Aunt Elsa asked
"Good."I replied while the twins continued munching on their piece of toast.We finished eating then went to put on our shoes.
"Have a good day boys."aunt Elsa said while handing me her car key.

"Bye aunt Elsa."Zan said
"Goodbye aunt Elsa."Zach said. We got in the car and I started driving towards school. I already knew where were some places as I used to spend my summer holidays here.
"Ky can you put on the radio please?"Zan asked
"Of course buddy."I replied while turning the radio on.After I parked the car in the parking I got out while the twins did the same.I locked the car and we went straight to the principal's office hand in hand and I knocked.
"Come in."A gruff voice said.we got in and I sat the twins on the chairs.
"Hello Sir. I am Austin Hudges and this is my brothers Zander and Zachary Hudges."I said
"Yes. Your uncle Mr Hudges  already informed me.I'll have my assistant escort them to their classroom."He replied
"Okay. Thank you sir."I told him and he simply nodded.I made my way to the twins and said "have a good day and don't fight.When school end wait for me near the canteen.Okay?"
"Ok love you Ky."Zach replied
"Bye Ky."Zac said
"Love you buddies. Goodbye."I said waving at them.

I started making my way to the parking when someone bumped into me and we both fell down on our butt.
"Sorry." We said at the same time. This voice seemed familiar. It was definitely the voice of my only friend Nathaniel.He had to move in the middle of the semester as he got settled in another country. I broke out of my trance when he offered me his hand for help.
"Sorry for staring." I said
"Its okay. Are you hurt?" He asked
"I am fine. Are you Nathaniel Smith?" I asked
"Yes its me. How do you know me?" He asked
"Its me Austin. Remember we used to go bowling?" I replied
"Yes, long time no see. What are you doing here?"He asked
"After the death of my parents, Zander, Zachary and I settled here with uncle Tony."I replied
"Oh sorry for your lost. Wanna grab a coffee?" He asked
"Actually I was going to search for a job." I replied truthfully
"Why don't you come with me. I was just heading to work at the restaurant and we are in need of a waiter." He said
"Ok. Get in the car." I said while starting the engine.
"How long have you been working there?" I asked
"Since last year. The owner is an old lady. She is very nice and caring." He replied

We contined talking till we reached the restaurant. I parked the car then we made our way to the restaurant. The inside was very beautiful. It was decorated with lantern lamp hanging around and had brown coloured chairs and tables to match the wooden flooring.
"Austin meet my friends Cole and Hunter."Nat said
"Hi. Nice to meet you." I replied while shaking their hands.
"Cole where is Lisa?"Nat asked
"At the counter."Cole replied while pointing towards Lisa.Nat and I made our way to Lisa and Nat greeted joyfully.
"Hello Lisa."
"Hello darling.Who is this handsome with you?" She said
"Hello. I am Nat's friend Austin and I was looking for a job Mrs ..." I replied nervously
"Mrs Goodman darling but call me Lisa.Come with me I'll just ask you some questions." She said. I nodded and went along with her.

As I came out of the room Cole, Hunter and Nat were in front of me.
"So, how did the interview go?"Nat asked
"I got the job and I'll be starting on Wednesday."I replied happily
"That's cool.Congrats."Nat said while hugging me.
"Congratulations." Cole and Hunter said in unision while shaking my hand
"Thanks. So guys now I must leave school will end in a few moments. See you soon." I said and made my way to the car

I drove to school to see the twins waiting near the canteen.
"Hey guys come on." I yelled a bit to catch their attention. They got in the car and we drove away.
"How was your day?" I asked to break the silence
"Good. I sit between a boy Aiden and a girl Sophie and they are my friends." Zach replied
"What about you Zan?" I asked
"I made two friends and they are Sophie and Nick." He said in a small voice which could tell he was tired.

We got home to be and took off our shoes at the door. Uncle Tony and aunt Elsa were waching tv.
"Go freshen up and have a nap. I'll let you know when dinner is ready." Aunt Elsa said
We went into the door and i took out three pairs of pjs while the twins were putting their bag on the table. As we were changing our clothes aunt Elsa came in and gave us a plate of cookies and three glass of milk. She took our clothes with then went out.we ate the cookies, drank our milk then took a nap.At eight o'clock aunt Elsa came and woke us. We went downstairs, took our seats and started eating.
"Have you find a job Austin?"Uncle Tony asked
"Yes. I'll be starting on Wednesday. Tomorrow after school the twins and I will go to the mall to buy our uniforms."I replied
Uncle Tony just hummed and we continued eating. After dinner we said our good nights then went into the room. I set my alarm for tomorrow while Zan and Zach took their teddy bears and climbed in bed.
"Good night." I said
"Good night ky." They said in a whisper. I switched off the light and slid under the cover. I let sleep take over me thinking that I had a good day and a better day was waiting for me.
