Neva's POV

Sweat gathered on the top of her brow, her breathing choppy and shallow, this surgery was proving to be rather difficult. Furrowing her brows, she careful inserted the instrument underneath and began the countdown. "5,4,3,2, flip my bacon!!!!!" Using the spatula and fork, Neva meticulously turned over her bacon. She wiped the sweat off of her head with the back of her hand before grinning. The surgery had been successful, and now she had dinner. She was about to turn off the stove when she realized there was still a pan full of bacon to flip. Neva groaned and continued her work. Neva was still focused on the billions of slicing sizzling when she heard the bell jingle and the door slam. Neva frowned and contemplated this, nobody that ever visited Alpha's Den slammed the door, everyone was very calm and quiet at the Bed and Breakfast.

Neva turned off the stove and grabbed a spare pan, bringing it behind her head and stalking toward the door. Nobody was allowed to disturb the peace on her watch. Neva could hear laughing in the den and made her way towards the entry. When she reached the door she saw a man in a hoodie, making his way towards the den. Neva was prepared to swing when the man turned around and she saw a face that she never wanted to see again. Livid, Neva brought the pan back and swung.

Alpha's POV

Alpha sat on the couch, laughing at one of Kai's newest creation. She called it the potato phone, in which you insert a phone in a potato so you can eat while you talk. The invention had the old ladies jeering and Alpha couldn't help but laugh along. Alpha was still giggling when she heard the 'clang' and a 'thud'. Alpha immediately jumped off of the couch and made her way towards the sound. Alpha was going to continue moving. "Xander", she breathed. This was the man who made her and her daughter feel loved, the one who saved them, and the one who betrayed them. Alpha scowled and was about to kick his limp form when she saw how weak he looked. "Mom?" Alpha looked up to see her mortified daughter and smiled sadly. "Come here baby." Alpha extended her arms and Neva ran to her, burying her head in Alpha's shoulder, crying.

Alpha looked at her mate's limp form, feeling the wisps of their connection that had been haunting her over the years. This man had left her. More importantly, this man had left her daughter. Neva had been through enough without this man playing with her feelings. She had trusted him, Neva had trusted him, and he had taken that trust, thrown it on the ground, and stomped all over it. Alpha glared at his unconscious form, and spit on him. "Mommy", Neva said giggling, then she regained her composure and pasted on a sly grin. Neva bounded out of the room to grab the markers, and the rope.
