The Girl

The Girl sat on the ground and smiled as her daughter told her a story. Her child spoke of Prince charming rescuing a lowly maid from servitude. The Girl enjoyed the way her daughter illustrated the story. Her voice went up and down depending on the character she was portraying, and her tone went along perfectly with the plot.

The Girl sat there with her daughter, her delight evident on her face. After Lucifer had told them to hide in the closet, Neva began to weave a story to lighten the mood. They laid there and waited until all of the gunshots ceased. Slowly creeping out of the door, her eyes widened as she heard the two words that would change her life forever.

"Mine."

Xander's POV

The warriors stood in front of their Alpha, awaiting commands. Xander approached each and every one of them and stared into their eyes. When he reached the last one, he moved back to the center and stood, shoulders back. "You have been prepped due to the rumors of a rogue base just outside of Willow. They believe that they are stronger than us, and any idiots that call themselves strong when they aren't even a real pack deserve punishment. Are all of you on board?", Xander gave the orders with force, and the devoted warriors stood, awaiting a further command. Xander smirked, and lead his pack to the base.

He made his way to his car, taking his place in the passenger seat as his beta slid behind the wheel.

"Something is going to happen today, I can just feel it," Xander glanced at his beta and rolled his eyes as he responded.

"You say that every day, and usually it is just related to food. Sometimes I truly believe that your brain is actually in your stomach." His beta scoffed at his Alpha's words and placed his right hand over his chest while keeping his eyes on the road.

"You truly wound me Alpha. Sometimes I feel like you don't even like or appreciate me and it truly hurts me. How can you be so utterly cruel?"

"Well when you work with a bumbling idiot every day you either gain patience or lose some, and I am afraid I fall in the latter category Alexander," Xander looked out the window as he spoke, admiring the greenery they were speeding past.

They bantered for half an hour longer until they finally reached their destination that was on the outskirts of the rather small town.

The base was shoddy and disappointing. Their 'fortress' was an abandoned office building with hardly any security cameras, and the two wolves that were roaming the grounds looked a tad depressed and malnourished.

Xander had expected more from such cocky rogues. Their defense allowed him and his pack to waltz through the front door. A couple of arrogant wolves tried to hold him back which was a very poor decision. By the time he made it to the most dominant scent, he was covered in the weakling's blood. He stopped cold when he reached the door. "Move her then! Nobody can find out what we have been hiding. Hurt the kid if you have to! Keep her powers at bay, nobody else is allowed to have her but me!" Xander smirked before turning on his heel to go find the girl they were hiding. He was almost excited to see what made them so sure of themselves.

The base was made up of all males, but while he was deciphering the scents for a female one, a hypnotic scent invaded his senses. Taking a deep breath, he followed the addictive smell before reaching a wall, growling at the obstacle.

Xander punched the wall and smirked as it gave in, it was a false wall. He stepped through the rubble and saw a hallway leading to a steel door. Carefully turning the wheel of a vault that was grossly out of place, he stepped into the now exposed stairwell. After taking careful steps down the rather treacherous steps, he looked up from his feet and gasped as he saw a girl. She was not human or werewolf, but something different. Her hair was a striking silver, while one of her eyes was half violet-half blue, and the other held something he could only describe as the galaxy. She was clutching a small child, but he didn't care, neither did his wolf.

"Mine."
