No. Just no.

Neva's POV

Getting the girls ready for school the next day was a task. None of them wanted to go back to where I had been mentally hurt. I didn't want to return to that heck hole either, but Neva refused to be seen as a coward.

They weren't going to take the bus, that would be too risky. The werewolves were out to get them now because Neva threatened their Alpha. Neva thought that she was supposed to be scared, but Neva kind of sucked at doing what was expected. They decided to walk to school, they traveled in a pack which is kind of funny when one sits down to think about it. She guessed they understood how much she needed to prove herself because eventually, they complied. So they ate in the dining hall, got dressed, and took to the streets. She was sure they were quite a sight to see, after all, she wouldn't think that seeing a flock of nine girls happens in everyday life.

Strolling through the gates was fairly amusing, they had already dropped the twins off at their Elementary school, and her remaining sisters were ready to fight. She was feeling jittery about seeing her mate, but that was quickly masked by her oodles (what the actual frick) of confidence. She didn't know exactly what was going through her siblings' heads, but their posture was stiff, so Neva assumed they were thinking about the events of the previous day. They got a lot of hostile growling from the wolves, but they knew better than to actually approach the girls. She was satisfied with their caution, it made going into the school way easier, they did not get mobbed or anything.

The inside of the school was silent as we entered, maybe that was a byproduct of mind-linking? Knowledge of our presence was spreading like wildfire, and Neva could feel the eyes that were glued to her face; she could hear the whispers as they began to circulate the halls.

'What are they?'

'She's the new Luna?'

'How did she get paired with Jace?'

'You think she saved herself?'

'Watch him reject her.'

She wasn't very bothered with the comments, after all, she wasn't the one that needed this bond. Her mother did just fine without it, while Xander became a self-loathing shell of a man. He could reject her, she would adapt eventually. The group walked through the crowd with confidence. She was not about to allow any of these mutts to influence her thoughts towards herself.

Kai and Nova flanked her sides, obviously as on edge as me. The other girls broke off, but we stayed in formation until the 200's, where Neva had Math. She hated the combination of numbers and letters. Kai seemed reluctant to leave, but she gave in when Nova pulled at her arm. They may argue, but at the end of the day, they were deadly loyal to our family, and especially each other.

After locating the room, she waltzed in and found a seat, she could feel the eyes on her, and she couldn't help but wonder what the odds were that they would end up in a werewolf high school. The humans that attended the school were more or less members of the pack from various odd circumstances, so the fact that they attended the same institution as glorified dogs was no secret to them.

She crossed her legs as she leaned back in her desk, casually lounging while waiting for the teacher to arrive. Who cares if people stare? She was always too lazy to care what people thought, it was too exhausting to pay attention to. An intoxicating scent invaded her senses as another person waltzed into the room, and she rolled her eyes at the figure. Her mate annoyed her. Suddenly the desk to her left was occupied by the young alpha who was for whatever reason unable to take his eyes off of her.

"Do you need something?" She rolled her eyes at his odd expression, she was extremely talented at holding grudges, just one of her many skills.

"No, but I may need to get out a camera?"

"And why is that?"

"To help you picture us together," her groan rang through the room at the ridiculous pickup line, how genuinely idiotic.

Before she was able to respond, their teacher entered the room, and she was actually kind of annoyed at her appearance. She was at least 50 years old with a posture permanently bent over, wire glasses perched on the edge of her nose and a thick book in her hand that appeared to have no cover. How odd.

"Alright guys, let's get right down to it. Pull out the textbooks you should have purchased over the summer and flip to page 16," the teacher began a spiel and Neva began tuning her out, the woman fading into nothing more than white noise. She couldn't wait for the bell to ring.

***

I don't know why, but it honestly feels like my writing devolves when I work on this book. I hate it so much, but y'all seem to enjoy it, so here we are. Should I try a total overhaul and edit the plot and crap or what? I think it's so weird and while it isn't cliche it is ridiculous.

Thanks for reading though!
