By the time we reached the party it had broken into full swing. It was approaching midnight and the music wasn't getting any quieter, if anything it was getting louder. We managed to get in around the back; Philip knew a route from when he used to sneak in to see Morgan when they were dating. Apparently it was unguarded as we snuck through the rose garden without so much as a look in our direction.

"We did it," Olivia giggled.

"Not that we were banned from the party," I commented, raising an eyebrow at the two boys. I'd managed to get my bikini back from Philip in the end, who was now back in his trunks. But he merely flashed me a smile.

"Thanks for the moral support, girls," he winked at us before disappearing towards the crowd around the pool. I shook my head, but Gavin moved in to wrap an arm around my shoulders.

"I'm glad you're doing okay," he said, his voice serious. It was rare for him and I looked up to see his grin was a lot smaller, but his eyes were filled with concern, "Let's just enjoy tonight, yeah? Your brother doesn't deserve to take that away from you."

I sighed, "I know. Thanks Gav. Let's go and enjoy the party."

"Party!" Olivia yipped from next to me and I laughed. The three of us moved in towards the crowd, forgetting about Philip and worrying about what Morgan would think if she saw Gavin again. This was the beginning of our summer and the start of a lot of fun. It was time to enjoy ourselves.

"I'm going to get a drink," I responded instead. Olivia raised an eyebrow at me and I raised a finger, "Non-alcoholic."

"I'll come with you, see you later Gav!" Olivia said to Gavin before taking my arm and leading me over to one of the tables of drinks. "Think Phillip will get thrown out again?" Olivia mused over the music and I smirked.

"Oh most likely. I feel he'll make it his duty," I responded, but I paused in my scanning as I saw a pair of boys chatting by the pool. I wasn't the only one watching them; Olivia had seen them as had a few others. One was Taylor Reed, one of the most popular boys at Hallenford school to have passed through in years. Tall, charming, blonde haired and generally a very good looking footballer, he had everything going for him. But it wasn't him that had caught my attention. Someone was with him, someone new. And that didn't happen often in Hallenford.

"Who is he?" Olivia breathed from next to me as the stranger smiled and shook his head at something Taylor said.

"I have no idea," I replied, but I couldn't think of much else other than that. Whoever he was he took my idea of handsome to a whole new level. He was lean in build with defined muscles but in contrast his features were soft and gentle. His hair was dark auburn and brushed over the tips of his ears and eyelashes. He sported a few freckles on his arms and cheeks, and his skin was pale even in this light. To my disappointment he wore a black t-shirt and trunks, hiding anything else to the eye. But what I could see was definitely impressive. I yelped as someone pinched my arm.

"Stop staring, Captain Obvious," Olivia's voice chided and I blushed, turning away from the pair. I glanced to her, my eyes slightly wider than usual.
