Scott was running very late for an interview with the owner of an art showcase who would decide whether or not they would show Scott's art at the annual showcase they do for up-and-coming artists. He has always wished to pursue art and has always been inspired by it. When his parents were researching Synesthesia they discovered that many artists have it and it helped them pursue art, so as soon as Scott was capable, they put him into different art programs. Luckily, he ended up loving art and gaining a passion for it.

He rushed through the doors of his favorite coffee shop "Coffee Kisses" that he visited every morning. Regardless of how late he was running, he knew he needed to get some coffee in his system. He was greeted by his friend Kirstie who owned the shop. Kirstie was Turquoise.

"Woah, running late for something?" She asked as Scott stopped at the counter, pulling for air that wasn't quite reaching his lungs as fast as he would have liked it too.

"Meeting with art showcase." He answered between breaths. Kirstie nodded approvingly as she made Scott's usual.

"Well good luck." She said as she handed him his warm coffee.

"Thanks Kirst." He replied before blowing a kiss as he walked out the door.

He headed for the building in which he would be interviewed, as well as where the showcase was being held. It was a large building with many different halls and rooms, all filled with empty walls. He felt that if he were to speak in here the entire world would hear the echo as it traveled through every hallway and into every empty room.

"Hello, are you Mr. Hoying?" A small women wearing a blazer and a pencil skirt asked as she approached him.

"Yes, I am!" he replied putting his hand out for her to shake. She shook it and then motioned for Scott to sit on the lone couch sitting centered in the empty room.

"Hello, I am Cindy Wiles. I run this building, as I'm sure you're aware."

"Of course! It's an honor to meet you Ms. Wiles."

"So Mr. Hoying," She began, jumping right into the interview, "What makes you feel that your art is unique or extraordinary?"

He knew the answer immediately but waited a second before replying to show her he was thinking about it.

"I have a condition where all of my senses are jumbled up, basically. When I hear a song, I also see it. Everything has a color to me, including you. And because I know you're going to ask, you're a dark blue. When I paint, I paint with my senses. My paintings are an insight into my strange mind and what it sees."

"That sounds very interesting. May I see the artwork you brought?"

He handed her his large portfolio and watched as she examined all of his favorite pieces hes created. She made a different face as she looked at each one, and he couldn't quite interpret them. After she finished she handed them back to him and sat in silent thought for a moment.

"Hoying," She began, catching his attention again as he had zoned out during the short break. "I think there is definitely a place for your artwork at the showcase. I am immensely impressed."

They discussed the plans and he shook her hand again before leaving. He was unbelievably excited for it. He had waited a very long time for an opportunity like this. Scott decided to run back to Coffee Kisses to let Kirstie know. She was always very excited whenever he advanced in his art career, and she would hardly believe this huge leap he was taking. He ran back to the coffee shop, and through the door, not paying attention to where he was going.

When he ran though the door, he immediately bumped into someone who was coming the opposite direction. They both fell to the ground, Scott catching himself so that he was just barely hovering over the tiny man beneath him. He glanced at the body beneath him and was taken aback.

The man was red.
