"I think this is the part where you stop staring at me and you get off of me." The man sassed.
"Oh.. yeah. Sorry." Scott nervously replied as he removed himself from on top of the brunette and stood up. He offered a hand to the man and helped him up. "Sorry about that, I uh.. I was in a hurry."
"Obviously." He scoffed. Scott noticed as the man glanced to the floor where an iced coffee was spilled and he frowned.
"Hey uh.."
"Mitch." The man interrupted.
"Mitch," Scott repeated back. "Could I buy you a coffee? I feel bad for practically tackling you."
"That's romantic. Tackle a man and buy him coffee."
"I didn't mean it like th--"
"Relax, I was only kidding. You're a very nervous human. I will let you buy me a coffee only if you buy one for yourself as well, sit down to drink it with me, and explain what was so important that you had to come in here so recklessly."
"Whats your drink of choice?" Scott asked, indirectly agreeing to Mitch's proposal.
"Whatever you're having uh.."
"Scott." He replied before smiling and turning towards the front counter. As Scott waited on the drinks, Mitch took a seat at a booth.
"So," Kirstie began in a voice that resembled that of a high school girl gossiping at a sleepover about someone after they left to the bathroom for a moment. "What was all that?"
"I'm not too sure myself, honestly." Scott replied shrugging his shoulders.
"In other news, how did the interview go?" She asked as she wiped the counter down while our coffee brewed.
"It went great! You're looking at a man whose art will be showcased on Friday." he said far too calmly.
"Scott, that's amazing!" She squealed, leaning over the counter to engulf him in an awkward half-hug. "Well, I'll let you go back to your new friend. Oh, and tip for the future, tackling someone wont usually get you dates. I don't recommend doing it again in the future." She teased. He shook his head at her 'advice' as she handed him the coffees.
"Thanks Kirst." he replied sarcastically. "I'll let you know the times of the event within the next couple of days." She nodded and smiled as she turned back to take the next persons order.
He walked back to the table Mitch had picked and slid into the booth across from him.
"Welcome back." Mitch said, glancing up from his phone before tucking it away.
"Thanks. Here's your soy caramel mocha with 2 espresso shots."
"You're kidding right?"
"Unless Kirstie messed it up, no."
"Thats what I always get here! That's crazy."
"But the spilled coffee was an iced coffee?"
"Oh, that? That wasn't mine. Someone who left right before you arrived did that. I just got a pastry today, which I had eaten by the time you tackled me."
"Then why'd you let me buy you a coffee to replace it?"
"Because you're cute and I'm bad at asking people on dates." he smirked, taking a drink from his coffee and quickly retreating as he burnt his tongue.
