On the evening of December twenty-fourth, Ridge pranced happily around his mansion. Tonight was going to be a night to remember, he couldn't wait to see their reactions, he thought to himself devilishly.
The sound of a piano playing Silent Night rang through the mansion. Ridge merely raised an eyebrow and the change, but chuckled despite himself. Those decorators had obviously done that, just because they could, but Ridge didn't mind.
Taking one last look at his coat and checking his hair, he turned away from his mirror and began floating down the stairs. Once he was almost halfway down, he waved a hand the the large mahogany doors opened with a small moan, revealing a small group of people in fancy dress at its entrance.
"Ah, so glad you all could make it." Ridge greeted as he landed softly in front of them. With a grin, he beckoned them inside from the harsh coldness that came with snow, grinning larger when some flinched as the doors slammed shut.
"Please, place your coats and gloves on the hangers, it's quiet warm in here." They was a murmur of thanks and greetings as they followed the instructions given. Once everyone was settled, the Demi-God took a moment to survey the first arrivals.
There were seven of them in total. Lomadia, who was wearing a lovely long dark blue dress with a silver owl broach, white gloves and a fluffy white shawl. Her date was yet to get here but Xephos was standing in for the time being. The spaceman was wearing his favorite burgundy coat and a smart white dress shirt, and star shaped cuff links. Beside the spaceman, well below him, was his friend Honeydew, who, despite the dress code, had still refused to put an actual shirt on. Instead, he was wearing a slightly smarter version of his usual attire.
Next, was Lalna and Nano. Lalna was wearing a pristine white suit with a purple shirt, black vest and tie, and sleek black shoes, that looked suspiciously very much like his normal ones, green and purple laces and all. He'd managed to tie his long hair back into a short pony tail, with his goggles still stubbornly glued to his head.
Nano was wearing a knee length red dress with golden trimmings and swirls. Her short black hair was let down, her red flowers still sat in her hair and instead of flats shes was wearing small heels, just to give her a little more height next to the giant of a man Lalna was. Both of them were still slightly fluxed, but it had gotten to the point where nobody really cared anymore.
And lastly, were Sips and Sjin. Sips was wearing a smart black suit and yellow tie with a white shirt. Sjin was wearing a black suit also, but with a pink tie. He'd combed his magnificent beard as well it seemed.
Clasping his hands together with a clap, he gestured for his guests to follow him into the dinning room. There was a wave of gasps that escaped everyone's lips as they took in the sight before them. A long table with expensive and fancy plates and glasses were set out on the dark oak table. Tinsel and other decorations were set up around the room, with a professionally decorated tree in the corner (Ridges was in the ballroom).
"This is where we'll be dining tonight, our other guests should be arriving any minute now. Please, have a look around and talk among yourself's. Gifts on the table in the corner please, we'll be distributing those later on in the night." Smiling once more at his guests, he turned on his heel, coat swirling around his ankles as he did so and made his way towards the door once again.
He'd just reached the door when the piano tune began to play again. Opening the doors with his hands, he invited everyone else inside and gave them the same instructions as he had previously.
This time, there were fifteen of them. Tee walked into the dining hall without saying anything, well, its not like he could, carrying a package that looked suspiciously like a lever, but Ridge didn't comment. Ravs did much the same, still wearing his kilt but with a nicer white shirt and sash that matched the patchy fabric.
