Hjertesorg

Heartbreak

***

Him

It was day 3 and she still did not know I existed. I was mostly over the heartache, coming to terms with the fact that this was all my doing. I would talk to her today. I can fix this. With renewed hope I walked through the gates of Columbia university.

I saw her as soon as I walked in. For the first time in three days she was not dressed formally; she was wearing an oversized black hoodie and jeans, her brunette locks in a french braid. She was just standing there. I could have walked over and talked to her right then but in the few minutes it took for me to make up my mind she suddenly faced me and waved, grinning. For a split second I thought it was at me - but it was not. A group of her friends emerged from behind me and rushed towards her. They embraced after which they walked inside the MUN building talking amongst themselves.

I sighed and walked in behind them, kicking myself mentally.

"Delegates..." The ACD started once we were all seated. I tuned out for the rest of the session rehearsing how I'd talk to her today.

The debates were finally over. It was time for me to talk to her.

"Hey, I'm Caspar," I whispered to myself. "Are you from the Norwegian school that's-"

I stopped. There she was. Talking to Ernie.

"He's kinda cute," I overheard one of her friends say when he had walked off.

"Why'd he walk off?" She asked her friends staring at his retreating back as he walked away.

It had been done. She was gone for good. I walked on, past her, to Arnold so we could meet the guys.

"Hey Cas," he grinned when I approached. "Let's go."

We had to meet our group for a bit to discuss our progress and catch some bogies.

"So you and Constance are getting along, huh?" I elbow him.

"Who?" he asks, frowning. "Oh, you mean Katalina. Yeah, we had a moment yesterday."

My blood ran cold, "Wha-what kind of moment," I cover the stutter with a cough.

"You know, the kind where we were alone, in a room. She hasn't got an impressive rack, but she's hot as hell," his grin is sick as he glances back at her before we round a corner. "I wonder how long till she'll let me fvck her."

I wanted to punch him but I couldn't. The muthafvcka did not care for her.

"Not long, I'm sure," he continues. It feels like he is taunting me; just begging me to punch him.

"Hey homies, what's happening?" I say as fast as I can and bro-fist a couple of our friends.

After a bit of discussions and a few smokes, Arnold speaks up.

"So, my Sonny's, it's time for the big man to go woo his lady," he drawls and makes the peace sign as he walks off. "See ya later."

Everyone hoots as my heart aches some more. It is a surprise I have not resorted to alcohol yet. My mum would be proud.

Also, I tried making them speak like teen boys... Idk how that went but haha, I'll get the hang of it soon.
