He has to apologise

Barry's POV :

Jane is confused, she doesn't know which one of the two dresses to buy. She is really cute when she is confused. She wants to ask me and keeps looking at me from the corner of her eyes but I know she won't ask me directly. She is stubborn just like me. Looking at her happy face really makes me happy.

I think I should help her. She is never gonna ask me for my opinion and she really needs my help too.

"That red one will look good on you."I said smiling.
"I didn't ask you! I will buy the blue one!"she replied giving me a look and went to the counter.

She is really cute.
"Sir, do you want any help?"asked one of the female staff.
"No, thanks."I said smiling.

Everywhere I go girls just wanna talk to me, they try really hard to gain my attention, to flirt with me. I don't like it. But I like it when this happens when I am around Jane, she gets really jealous. She never shows this or say anything, but I know she is. I mean I feel like that.

She is coming from the counter. Let's go and have little fun!

"Someone said that she will buy the blue one not the red one."I said taunting her.
"It's my wish!"she said and hurried out of the dress section trying to hide her embarrassment.
I started laughing, she is really cute.

I knew she will buy the red one.

I followed her out laughing. But when I saw her, I was shocked. She had tears in her eyes. Tears were rolling down her cheeks. She was crying!! What happened to her? Why is she suddenly crying?

"Jane, what's the matter? Are you hurt anywhere? What's wrong?"I asked her holding her on her feet so she don't fall.

She was crying a lot. And she lost all her strength, she was unable to stand on her feet. She seems so vulnerable right now.

"Please, take me home."she said crying.

I lifted her up in my arms and took her out of the mall.

I took her home. She went to her room and locked herself. I want to be with her. I want to know what really happened, but she wants to be alone for sometime. I know she will talk to me when she feels like. But, I am really worried and I am really going nuts here, unable to do anything for her.

I want to run, run as fast as I can. I want to break things. I want to let out my frustration, but Jane will need me. She can need me any time. I can't leave her alone. What should I do? I am pacing in the hall while she is crying in her room. I can hear her crying and this is making it too hard for me to calm myself down. I can't see her sad!

Finally, she came out of her room. Her eyes are swollen. Seeing her like this really makes it hard for me not to loose my self control. I looked at her worried.

She sat on the couch and patted the seat beside her. I went and sat down. She took a deep breath and said,"Barry, I'm sorry. I got you worried. I know you have so many questions. I will tell you everything, but promise me that you won't do anything crazy. Please..."she looked at me.

She is making me really nervous. What is it? I have never seen her this  serious before. I just nodded my head.

She continued,"Today, I saw Mark with his wife. Mark, is the guy I fell in love with a year ago....."she looked at me and then looked at her hands in her lap.

She told me how she met him, how her father rejected her relationship with Mark when he found out. She told me how she left everything for him and he left her. She told me what happened that day, the day she tried to end her life.

I was hearing everything, trying to keep myself calm. This is making me really angry. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, trying to calm myself down. I have promised her, otherwise Mark wouldn't have been alive.
I closed my palm in fist in anger, she held my fist and looked at me.

"Barry, don't worry, I am fine now. I have already moved on. But, when I saw him today my past came infront of my eyes and tears just fell down my eyes. But, this won't happen again. I have forgotten him. Really, don't worry."she said and smiled weakly.
I didn't say anything and just nodded.

We took our flight back the same day. She will feel happy and relaxed with her friends.

I dropped her home and said,"I will never let a tear fall down from your eyes. I promise!"

I went my car and started the engine. I came directly to meet dad. I know dad can help me out.

Next Day:

Today I didn't went to the restaurant. I came to my office, waiting for him.

He barged into my office room with my receptionist trying to stop him.

At last he is here! I have waited the whole day for him!

"Sir, you can't come in like that."said my receptionist, Maria.
"It's ok, Maria. You can leave."I told her and she went out closing the door behind her.

"How can you do this? Do you know how much loss my company had because of this? How can you just cancel your deal all of a sudden?"he shouted angrily.

"Hey! Calm down, Mark. Let's sit and talk."I said smiling.

"I'm not here to sit and talk! Just tell me why did you do this!"he said angrily.

"Ok..."I said getting up and going towards him,"I have a question, what do you think, losing your money or a deal is more important than losing your family?"I asked him standing face to face with him.

"I don't know what you are talking about."he said confused.

"I thought so, you will never know this; you don't have any family or emotions. Next question, do you know how it feels to be betrayed by someone you love? How it feels to have a broken heart?"I asked him looking straight into his eyes.

"Can you be more clear! I don't understand what you are trying to say! And how does these connect with cancelling the deal!"he said confused.

"Just go and apologise for your mistakes otherwise you will have to work as a waiter for the rest of your life. And I am really serious about this. I can really do this." I hissed trying to control my urge to kill him.

"Who are you?"he asked me surprised at the fact that I know about his past that no one knows about. Everyone else only know about him being a driver not a waiter!
"Don't waste your time."I said giving him a card with restaurant's address.
He took it from my hand and left.

He is still alive because of the promise I made to Jane otherwise he would have been dead not walking out alive!! He made her cry! He made her try to end her life and I can't even give him a good punishment!!

I took few deep breaths and went out of the office. I need air! I need to run! I ran as fast as I can feeling the air on my skin.

How will Jane react when she sees Mark, when she meet him face to face after all that? What will she do after that? Now, Barry have done what he wanted to do, now he knows what he was trying to know, so what is going to happen next?
