I woke up in an old motel bed. I wondered how I got here. I sat up and looked around for a clock. Apparently it was already 9 o clock. I looked to the other side of me, only to find Dean. He was asleep and I didn't want to wake him up, so I sneaked out of the bed and walked towards my bag. There had to be something for this headache. As soon as I found the pills I needed I walked to the small kitchen. There was no one else in the room. Sam and Rachel must have rented another room. I grabbed a glass of water and gulped the pills down. I found a half eaten burger. It smelled like it wasn’t too old, so I decided to eat it. I sat down and then Dean started to wake up.
"Morning" Dean said with his morning voice. I just ignored him. "Can you hear me?" he asked. I still didn't say a thing. "I think you can hear me, but you're just ignoring me" he said annoyed. His hand ruffled trough his hair.
"I can't decide if I'm still mad at you or not. So until I made a decision I'm going to ignore you." I said.
"What are you, 2?" Dean said.
"and a half" I replied.
"Wow you need to grow up, you know!" Dean said raising his voice. I didn't answer. "You need to learn what responsibilities are! What it is like to take care of someone! I know you're an only child and that you always had people to do the work for you, but now you need to do it yourself!" Dean was screaming at this point. Anger was building up inside me, but I didn't show it. Never show your enemies your anger. They will only become more confident. "You need to stop being such a baby and start doing what people expect you to do"
"Are you done?" I asked as calm as I possibly could. But before he could answer I started talking. Only this time with more anger. "You think that I don't know what responsibilities are? What it is to take care of someone? Maybe you should stop thinking! Maybe you should get your head out of your ass and-"
"Stop blaming me! It's your fault that Sam got attacked last night! He was your responsibility!"
"Yeah you're the one who should say things like that. I mean things like that don't happen to you. Oh wait, they do, like last night with Kat!"
"That's not the same!" Dean protested.
"No Dean! It's exactly the same! And you are the one blaming others for it! I know what it is to have responsibility over something! Over someone! I know what it's like to take care of someone! When my mom and sister died my dad lost it! Dean ... I was 12 for god sake! I was 12 and needed to take care of a toddler and a grown man!! Believe me, I know what responsibility means!" My voice became weaker, until I just stopped talking.
"You never told me that you had a younger sister" He said soft.
"She died 6 years ago. She killed herself. She lived in a mental hospital because there was something wrong with her. Or that's what we thought when we put her there. Now I just think she had some sort ability. If I had known there were things like that ... She wouldn't have gone to the hospital. She would still be alive." My voice started to shake and I could feel the tears in my eyes. I stood up and walked towards the door, grabbed the bottle of whiskey that I kept in my bag and started walking outside towards my car. Dean hadn't moved. “Please just leave me alone" I said as I slammed the door shut.
~
One and a half bottle of whiskey later, someone decided to come and check on me. I heard soft taps on the window.
“Can I come in?” Rachel asked.
I unlocked the door and moved a bit so Rachel could sit down.
“Wanna talk about it?” she asked carefully
“What’s there to talk about?” I asked. I was on the verge of crying … again. The whiskey obviously didn’t help me forget about my sister, my mother, my father, Dean, hunting, everything. Plus Rachel probably knew everything already. Even if she didn’t hear it herself then Dean would have told her. So telling her again was unnecessary.
“Well then I’m going to tell what’s going to happen” Rachel started, pausing for a second to check if I was still listening “you’re going to stop with the whiskey. Then you are going to walk back to the motel room and make up with Dean, he and Sam are pretty worried about you. Then we’re going home. And then you are going to take a hot bath while I make a nice meal.”
I just sighed. I knew I had to stop this. I had to stop whining over her. After all, it’s probably better this way. I put the cap on the bottle and gave it to Rachel. Because the alcohol never made it into my bloodstream (Another thing that my body tend to do), I wasn’t drunk at all. So I climbed out of the car and made my way into the motel room. Dean and Sam were sitting on the beds. I paused for a second, thinking of what I would say. But there was no time to think. Sam had already noticed me and walked over to me. He didn’t say a thing, he just hugged me. After a few seconds he pulled back and looked me in the eye. Then he just nodded and walked away.
“The two of you have a lot to talk about”
I watched Sam close the door. After staring at the door for a few seconds, I focused my gaze on Dean. He had risen from his seat and was slowly coming over. He stopped 5 feet away from me. His hand was scratching his neck, he always did this when he was uncomfortable. A few seconds passed as we looked at anything but at each other.
“I’m sorry” we both said at the same time. We both laughed. My gaze dropped to the floor again. Dean coughed.
“Sooooo…” I started.
“So here we are” Dean said. I nodded slowly. After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence I decide I should just apologize.
“Look I should have told you about my sister-“ I started but Dean cut me off.
“It’s not your fault. I have been on the edge lately. I was just trying to start a fight. I shouldn’t have said all those things and certainly not to you. It’s not your fault.”
“Okay well, uhmm. Then I guess I forgive you” I said.
“You guess?” Dean said teasingly.
“Okay I forgive you and I invite you over for dinner." He gave me a suspisous look. "Okay" I gave in "Rachel is cooking and I don’t want to die alone” I said.
“It will be a pleasure to watch you die” Dean said and opened the door, gesturing that I could go first. While I walked past him I gave him a slap on the back of his head. As we walked out I heard Rachel say “4 Minutes, that’s too short for makeup sex.”
Sam chuckled. God what was I supposed to do with these people?
“Rachel, you need to cook for to more people tonight” I said ignoring everything she had said.
“Yeah I figured something like that” she replied “How do you even dare to call my cooking poison!”
I shook my head and focused on the guys who were standing by the impala. “Do you think that thing is able to keep up?” I nodded towards the impala. Dean shot me an angry look. No one had the right to talk that way about his baby.
“Show us what you got. I’m pretty sure this lady is able to keep up.” He patted the impala before he got in. Sam rolled his eyes and got in the passengers seat. In less than 5 minutes there was an intense pursuit going on.
“What are you going to do about Jordan?” Rachel asked after 15 minutes of driving way over the speed limit. I just shrugged in response. “Those are things not to worry about right now. Because at this moment I need to kick some ass”
