As soon as we got away from the infuriated guests Thomas brought me back to his house where he got me another one of Lucille's old dresses. I smiled and thanked him for it although honestly I would have preferred a pair of pants and a shirt. I knew it was improper for a lady to wair a guys clothes but, male clothing looked so much more comfortable. Thomas looked at me worried, "What's wrong? Do you not like the dress?" I smiled "No it a beautiful dress, it's just that... I rather be wairing male clothing, I know it's improper and all but it looks so much more comfortable." Thomas smiled and took back the dress, and ran upstairs then came back down with a smaller pair of his own clothes. "These are my clothes from when I was in my teens if you want them you can have them." I smiled and hugged him, "Thank you Thomas." He turned around to allow me to slip on the pants and shirt that he had gotten for me. I smiled and twirled around. "Just like I thought, a lot more comfortable." He laughed and squeezed me in a hug. Almost immediately after he let go there was a loud thud on the door. I smiled, "I'll get it." Thomas hesitated, but then let me go to the door to check who it was. I opened the door and there my mother stood, her dress for the wedding still on, a furious scowl painted on her face. "Ms. Hannah, you go back and see your husband this second. You are not aloud to run off with strangers anymore." I smiled feeling courage build in me. I raised up my hand to the side of my face. "I don't see no bling, nor did I sign the papers. So technically I don't have to marry him if I don't want to. And I don't want to so, good day." I was about to close the door in my mother's face when a police officer showed up at the door. He grinned at me and said "In your mother's case it is against the law for you to live in any man's house except your father's unless your married, so you Miss are not aloud to live with Mr.Sharpe." I stepped back, not knowing what to do, for as sure as hell I wasn't going back to my mother's. I shouted to Thomas hoping he could help. He walked up beside me and wrapped his arm around my waist. "What's wrong?" I grinned, "Well, there's somewhat of a problem." He looked at the police officer. "What seems to be the problem sir?" He asked The police officer responded with a grumble in his voice. "Your not aloud to let Miss. Paris live with you unless you are married." Thomas smiled and shyly laughed. "Well I was saving it for later but," Thomas kneeled down in front of me smiling he held my hand in his. I bit my lip and gasped, "oh god Thomas." He smiled and pulled a ring out of his pocket, "Hannah Paris, will you marry me." I smiled and a tear fell from my eye, all I could do was nod my head yes. Thomas slipped this www.bing.com/images/search?q=beau... on my finger. He stood up his lips smashing against mine. He wrapped his arms around me. I felt a hand push against my stomach pushing me away from Thomas. I looked over to see my mother pushing us apart. I glared at her. "What do you want." She scowled "I have to ok the marriage and I don't so you can't marry hi-" the police officer cut her off, "Actually you don't, only she has to say ok and she's aloud to marry him." I smiled and thanked the officer. I then sent my mother on her way and once again thanked the officer. Before she left though she sent a disgusted look at me. "Why are you wearing a man's clothing? That's very un-ladylike." I smiled and slammed her carriage door in her face not answering her question.
