When Robinwing woke, the sun was just rising, sending flames of color over the horizon. The clan was getting ready to leave, all dreading the trip they'd have to make through twolegplace. He saw Firestorm standing beside Dawntail, trying to keep track of her four kits.

He rushed over to them, picking up Foxkit, who had wondered away. "Thank you!" Dawntail breathed as Robinwing set him down beside Squirrelkit.

"You're welcome." Robinwing said, reminding himself how much kits annoyed him. He was glad that Firestorm felt the same way.

As the clan set off, he was quick to grab Foxkit yet again, who was trying to run off after Birdkit, who had returned with StarClan. But his sister walked ahead of the group, leading them along with the rest of the nine StarClan cats.

"Stay still, Foxkit." He warned the kit. I hope he isn't quite so annoying when he is an apprentice. "You're going to get yourself killed."

Foxkit ignored him and hopped over to his sisters, batting at Dustkit's tail. She hissed at him, bounding forward only to crash into Flamefur, who let out a startled yelp.

"Dustkit!" Dawntail hissed. Firestorm laughed at her sister, while Flamefur pushed Dustkit over with a paw.

"I wish all of these kits were like you, Stormkit." Robinwing laughed. The kit perked up at his praise, kneading the ground with her tiny grey paws.

"Do you think I can be Rainstorm's apprentice?" She squealed. Robinwing nodded, guessing that she would make a good moon cat when she was older.

"Hey, Robinwing?" Cloudpool appeared at his side, nearly trampling Squirrelkit.

"What?" Robinwing tilted his head to one side.

"I'm a bit.. Worried. The other day Coldwind and I had a talk and.. He really doesn't trust Frostpaw or Leopardpaw. I'm worried that he might not be training him right.." She sighed.

Robinwing had forgotten that Coldwind even had an apprentice. "Oh." He shrugged. "Coldwind's all bark, no bite. He wouldn't ignore an apprentice, it could damage his ego."

Cloudpool purred with amusement. "I think I should talk with Stripedstar about changing Leopardpaw's mentor. Do you..?"

"Ruin Coldwind's reputation? That's not a very nice thing to do to your mate." Dawntail laughed.

"You should speak to Leopardpaw. There would be no point in changing his mentor if he doesn't think you should." Robinwing pointed out. "Coldwind is a great fighter. It would be perfect for him to mentor his brother."

"Alright, good idea! I'll talk to him." Cloudpool dashed off, lost in the crowd of kits.

"I bet I am going to be the best warrior ever!" Foxkit announced as the cats settled down beside a thunderpath.

"Yeah, I bet your warrior name will be Foxheart." Stormkit said, making Squirrelkit giggle. "It would suit a warrior like you!"

Foxkit growled at her. "I'll show you a warrior!" He hissed. "Watch this!"

Before any cat could stop him, Foxkit turned and darted onto the thunderpath. Just as a monster was thundering towards him, about to flatten the kit, Stripedstar dashed out and pushed the kit out of the way.

It seemed to happen in slow motion. The whole clan watched on as the monster rolled towards the leader, hitting her with a deafening smack. Stripedstar rolled-- no, flew off the thunderpath into a ditch of murky water below.

Rainstorm and some of the StarClan cats were already helping her out. Foxkit stood at the edge of the thunderpath, his fur fluffed up to twice his side. "Foxkit!" Firestorm yelled, clearly furious. "Can you do anything right, just for once?"

"Stop yelling at him, he's only a kit!" Dawntail said, picking him up by the scruff. As she set him down beside Stormkit, Rainstorm emerged from the ditch.

"The monster has taken Stripedstar's life. She has only one remaining." He glanced hesitantly at Owlflight, who would be leader when Stripedstar died. Robinwing knew he was thinking what every other cat was thinking. Will Owlflight be a good leader for LightClan?
