Ok, this was not my best idea. We were in Jenny's limo, Mark, Luke, and I. I leaned against Marcus' shoulder. Everyone was quiet. Jenny sat with a few of her henchmen and her husband drove. We were crossing into their territory again, something that would probably be the end of us. Mark and I conversed via mind link.

"This is risky." Mark repeated.

"I know." I repeated, "But we have to. You backed us into a corner ordering them out like that. I had to swoop in and save the day. Now, I'll have to do it again. I won't show Cody that I feel anything. We've already touched, and, as you know, that is the first feeling we get and the strongest. It's all tingles and heat waves, now, unless we have sex and I won't do it willingly. He's too good a man to rape me."

"I know, but I don't like this. I'm worried about you."

"Will you two stop, now? This is the fourth version of the same damn conversation. Eve can handle herself and you know it. Everything is handled. They can't hold us for too long. You know that, now shut up, ok?" Lucas barked. I was glad that the conversation had finally ended. It was getting irritating. My thoughts were cut short with the mansion coming into view.

"We're here," Jennifer announced. She hadn't looked at me since before. I was sad that I had to lose her as a friend, but I loved Marcus too much to show that I knew her.

Instead of going towards the valet area, we went around back. It was pretty, with a large brick pathway and an old wooden door. It looked like the front of the house, but more of a natural beauty with all the plants and flowers. Mark opened the door and helped me out. Everyone turned around to the sound of a door opening. I whirled around, hoping that it wouldn't be Cody. It wasn't, but it was something worse, Jeremy Watson and his mate. I smiled at him and he didn't return it. Instead, he waltzed up to Jennifer and hugged her briefly before speaking lowly, "Cody is in his office on the fourth floor. Leave Alpha Marcus and Beta Lucas in the waiting area. Cody wants to speak to Evelyn."

Jenny nodded briefly and we all began marching into the house, Jeremy and his wife leading the way. Inside, we were in a living room. Jeremy didn't even look back as he walked into another room, opening the door for his wife. Jenny walked in front of us all.

"Alpha Marcus, Beta Lucas, please wait here for Cody Watson. Eve, please come with me," She said briskly. I began following Jenny, but Mark pulled my arm, making me face him.

Without saying anything, he pulled my face towards his and smashing my lips onto his. I could tell he was, in a way, marking his territory before I would see Cody, rubbing his scent all over me. He pulled away, put both hands on my cheeks, and looked at me deeply. "I love you."

I smiled, touching his hand and taking it off my face. "I love you, too, baby."

I pulled back, following the expectant Jenny into another room. We walked down a hallway, not unlike the one I got lost in. Neither of us said anything. She looked lost in thought and, I thought, sad. I felt bad once again and felt regret for choosing Marcus, but I'm not some babbling girl who can't make a choice. I know what I want. Bella Swan is just a bitch to me. Jenny opened a door loudly, snapping me to attention. "Cody." She spoke, walking into the room. This was it, my time to shine. I had to be an amazing actor to get out of this. It was a good thing that I was a good liar. I stepped in and surveyed his office.

Everything was in ruin. The desk that probably once looked magnificent was now tossed to the wall, on its side, papers spilling out of drawers. A lamp lay broken on the floor. A filling cabinet was also fallen; the drawers open and files lay scattered. Cody lay on a couch to the side, a bottle of whiskey in one hand. He looked up, his eyes raging angry. When he saw me, he froze, the anger still in his eyes.
