"And then, on the drive home, we didn't even talk, we just both sat there. I don't know what to do, Jane! We haven't spoken since."
Jane plunged her spoon into her peanut butter ice cream, her eyes red, "Well at least you have relationships. Ethan stood me up on our date, and then decided to cheat on me. Several. Times. Bloody fuckwit."
We cuddled on her bed together, sharing the ice cream, "I know. It's awful. I'm sorry."
She sniffed a few more time, hugging me back, "I hate boys."
I fiddled with the pillow, "I know you do."
She straightened up, looking at me, "If you're so worried about this kiss with Daniel, then you have two options," she wiped her eyes, pushing her hair back, "Either you can blame it on the alcohol and get with Joe, or you can take the risk and be more than 'just friends' with him."
I stuffed my face on my hands, completely unsure, "I don't know, I...don't want to ruin our friendship." A lump caught in my throat and I felt like crying. I can't risk losing Daniel. He's too important to me.
Jane nodded, passing me the ice cream, 'Then I guess you have your answer."

4:01pm
S: Okay. We need to talk.
D: Okay.
S: I think we should blame the kiss on the alcohol.
D: Why?
D: It didn't mean anything to you.
S: Is that okay? We're just friends.

7:24pm
S: Hey, are we okay?
S: Daniel?
D: Yep. Fine.
