I scrambled to my feet, fear flooding me.
"Guys! Guys! Get up they found us!" I yelled turning and running into a small table with a empty vas on it. The vas fell off shattering and waking them up, well that was one way to do it.
A shot was fired causing Maggie to scream and Jackson to swear. By now everyone was up and we were heading for the door.
We scrambled out of the apartment into the dusty hall. The lasers from their guns shimmered through the dust making it easier to avoid them. We got to the stairs opening the door but their footsteps could be heard throughout the stairwell so we turned back around running to the elevator.
Ash hit the button a few times but it didn't light up I looked around, we were trapped.
"Guys the apartment! We can jump through the hole!" Dylan said. He must be out of this mind! We were on the second floor, that jump would do to much damage, but we didn't have much of a choice.
Suddenly the door to the stairwell flew open and twelve men with guns ran down the hallway at us yelling in a different language.
They waved their guns but did not shoot. One of them stepped forward, "Don't move or we will blow you all to pieces!" He yelled with a think Arabic accent.
They surrounded us tying our hands behind our back. Tyler shook his head, "No!" He yelled. He took a step forward throwing his elbow back and making contact the one guys nose. He then rotated punching another guy in the jaw before grabbing his gun.
We all states in shock at Tyler's sudden act of courage. He cocked the gun and the terrorists mocked his movement.
He looked at us for a second, a devilish grin spread across his face. Maggie's eyes widened and she began to step forward but it was to late. Gun fire filled the air around us as Tyler fired a round at the terrorists. A few dropped but the rest didn't hesitate for a second to return fire. They fired multiple shots into Tyler's body before he finally fell to his knees and then to the ground.
I sucked a breath in and Maggie cried out collapsing next to him. The terrorists surrounded us once again picking Maggie up and dragging us away, out into the chilling night air.
There was a larger truck outside of the apartment, waiting for us when we were brought out.
After Tyler's act of courage no one else spoke up or acted out. Ash looked at me fear and anger in his eyes as they threw me in the back of the truck.
I nodded slightly showing him I was okay but his expression didn't change. Once we were all in the truck it began to move. The back was covered the a cloth top so I couldn't actually see where we were going. After what felt like forever the truck came to a sudden stop and I heard the door shut followed by footsteps.
I took a breath to calm myself but a tear escaped from the corner of my eye. I looked at my friends noticing that Jackson and his hand on Catherine's rubbing small circles on it to calm her down. Maggie was hugging Dylan as they both cried. Tyler was gone. It was finally sinking in, I was supposed to protect him and now he was gone. We lost Emma and now Tyler, we couldn't lose anyone else, I couldn't handle it of we did.
The back of the truck opened and I pushed myself up against the back wall trying to shrink down into oblivion. They grabbed us dragging us down the hallway of what I assumed to be a jailhouse. Empty cells lined the hall, horror filled me as I realized these cells were probably full up until this afternoon when they killed all those people in the middle of town square.
I was caught off guard when the man that was guiding me suddenly shoved me sideways into an open cell, slamming the door behind me.
I ran to the cell door trying to look sideways through the bars but it was no use. Maggie was in the cell in front of me and she sat in the floor, a blank expression on her face as she stared off into the distance, tears still running down her face.
This was bad.
One man walked up to the cells, I recognized him as the man that spoke English in the apartments. I opened my mouth to say something but fear got the best of me and I backed up sliding down the wall and bringing my knees to my chest.
He must have seen me out of the corner of my eye because he glanced at me smirking. He stepped closer to my cell puffing out his bottom lip in mock sadness.
"What's wrong? Can't handle one night in a jail cell?" He asked amusement written all over his face.
"Why don't you just kill us." I asked bitterly.
He cocked his head smiling a little, "Oh don't worry my dear, tomorrow we will." He stated plainly before giving me one more smile and continuing down the hallway.
I scowled shaking my head, what did we ever do to deserve this?! Frustrated tears mixed with the sad tears and I laid down on the cold hard cement floor wishing I could still see the stars.
If I was really gonna die tomorrow then I should make this moment count. I closed my eyes trying to sleep but I knew it was no use, I still wasn't tired.
It didn't make sense, I was sure to collapse soon enough if I didn't sleep now but I guess it didn't really matter anyways, as soon as the sun came up I would be dead.
I looked up at the gray ceiling imagining the stars and I smiled, I didn't want to die, but at least I would be with my family again.
I would be at peace.
I shook my head, I couldn't think like that, we were getting out of here no matter what.
"Psst. Hey guys?" I head Dylan's voice carry through the hallway and I stood up walking over to the cell door.
"Dylan?" I asked
"Dylan is that you?" Maggie said from the cell across from me.
"Ya guys it's me. I can see Ash too and I think Jackson is in the cell next to me." He said.
"That would be correct." Jackson informed us.
"We have to come up with a plan guys." Ash chimed in.
Dylan laughed a little, "Way ahead of you dude. I already have the whole thing planned out."
"Great, so tell us what it bis." Maggie said.
Dylan sighed before beginning, "Alright, here's how it's gonna go.
