Today is the day. Just as the sun was beginning to peer over the horizon we all rose from our beds and got ready to fly. I bleakly remember throwing on a sweatshirt and some sweatpants in the darkness of my room after my quick shower. The light slowly grew brighter due to the fact shy I had an enormous window in my room that was facing the rising sun.

I had grabbed my bags and dragged them down to the kitchen where I was no longer alone. My ears were vacant of the sound of voices and I was okay with that. We were all tired, despite my mother and father being wide awake. They knew better than to speak to us in this state. We had forced ourselves to stay up late in reason with attempting to sleep on the flight. I knew I would sleep through the flight for sure now.

"Who's dumb ass idea was this?" Katie groaned as she finished off her bowl of cereal.

"Yours!" Carson, Jack, and I groaned back in unison. Mom laughed at our irritable manners and started to get things out into the car. Once we had finished up taking care of the dishes and telling tubby goodbye Dad came in.

"The only thing left to get in the car is you four and your phones, let's go!" He crammed the words into one quick sentence. Katie jumped onto Jack's back, forcing him to carry her. I did the same to Carson. He turned his head ever so delicately and whispered into my ear as best he could.

"Good morning princess." My heart fluttered at his words.

"Girls, the boys are not pack mules." Dad advised. We shrugged as they set us both down to climb into the car.

It wasn't that long of a drive. It was silent, too. I enjoyed the silence for as long as I could because once we arrived the New York we wouldn't get a moment of peace and quiet for the duration of the week we were there. I had somehow convinced Katie to use her earbuds instead of playing her "morning music" out loud. Her morning music is really just extremely calm music that can start your day slower than slow in my opinion, but Katie likes to write in the morning and it is the same playlist that she writes to that she wakes up to. I looked in the seat diagonal from me to see Carson rubbing his eyes out of exhaustion.

"If she keeps us up all night one more time, I swear." Carson glared behind him at the already sleeping girl.

"Finish that sentence, I dare you." Jack raised an eyebrow at his best friend in a joking manner.

Knowing there would be only a boyish joking argument, I interrupted, "You know it won't be the last time she does that. We all do."

Once we had pulled up to the airport I could feel the excitement building. I checked my watch to see that we were approximately ten minutes prior to boarding. And so, we all got our luggage and walked inside.

The plane was not much different than others i had been on. I could feel Katie clinging to the back of my shirt as we walked on. I rolled my eyes and shoved her in front of me up to Jack. That way, Jack could handle Katie's anxiety and I would have the chance of sitting with Carson. It sounded selfish but Jack was always telling me how he wanted to help Katie with her anxiety. This is the perfect way and time to do so.

Carson shifted to face me and placed his hand gently on the small of my back, letting me get ahead of him into the row of seats. I took the window seat, of course. Katie and Jack were behind us and my parents behind them. The flight attendant commenced the instructions of the safety objects. A soft breath near my ear shocked me until I realized it was only Carson speaking.

"They say this every time. We have heard this so much, if I hear it one more time, I'm going to blow up." He whispered through gritted teeth, causing me to have to stifle a laugh so as not to get scolded by the attendant for speaking when I shouldn't. Even though I wasn't talking, these people have no mercy.
