The ride to the bus stop was silent, even though there were about thiry people there on the small, tight bus. Luckily they still managed to find a seat. After they got off, they had to walk 2 blocks to Jessica's "palace". It was a small, run down building that Jessica had found on the way to meet Molly, her black lab puppy, who used to live in the pound until she had fianally earned enough money to pay for him. They walked through a small wood covered crack in the wall. It was a lot different than Jason expected. There was a small, wood frame couch with cotton cusions. There were christmas lights hanging from the ceiling. A small bed on the opposite side of the room. A minifridge by the couch, and a small, round table with two wooden chairs, right in the middle. A black puppy lay on the bed. She looked up and came running toward Jessica.
"Jason, this is Molly."
"She's beautiful," Jason replied.
Molly barked and they all laughed.
"Are you hungry?" Jessica asked Jason, walking toward the minifridge. She tossed him an apple, and took one for herself. She sat on the couch with Molly on her lap. Jason sat across from her.
"So, why were you all alone?" Jessica asked.
"I don't really want to talk about it."
"It's okay. My parents fell into a...um....they got into a car crash."
"I have to go."
Jason walked out through the hole in the wall. Jessica sighed. "Let him go Molly."
