Annabeth was so busy sketching a plan for a Greek style mansion that she didn't notice her half-sister Kylie standing behind her until she had called out her name three times.

"Annabeth! There are some people here to see you!"

Kylie was all of fourteen and was relatively new at camp. After having been claimed by Athena, Annabeth had taken notice of her sense of intrigue and her passion for the arts, which reminded her so much of herself that it immediately triggered a protective instinct in her. She'd taken the tiny, fair skinned red head under her wing ever since.

Annabeth barely looked up as she bit back a reply. "Tell them to go get a life."

Kylie frowned, disturbed by the resentment behind the answer. "That's a terribly rude thing to say to people who are eagerly waiting for you in this weather. They look awfully worried. Stop wallowing and just go."

She walked up to Annabeth and forcefully snatched the pencil she had been sketching with and moved the canvas away from her reach with one hand, pointing insistently towards the door with the other.

Annabeth sighed in defeat and strutted towards the door, opening it hesitantly to see Piper and Hazel standing in front of the cabin. "What?"

Piper looked at her, regret clearly reflected in her kaleidoscope eyes. "Annabeth, we're so so very sorry. Please don't stay mad at us. You are our rock, the one that brings us all together and the one that saves us from doing anything stupid. You've been our mentor, our own personal motivational speaker, a shoulder to lean on in times of need and a beacon of love and hope. Please forgive us." Hazel nodded pretty hard as if to say that she completely agreed.

Annabeth was touched, all of her anger slowly drained out of her system and relief took its place, but she stayed silent, unable to express what she felt with the right words. Hazel stepped forward until she was within arm's reach. "Here."

Annabeth glanced at the brochure. It was for a theme park called 'The Joyride' that was offering some crazy discounts on all of their rides.

Hazel hugged Annabeth. "All of us are planning to head there in the evening. And we want you to come with us. Go put on something warm so that you don't freeze and come on!"

Annabeth chuckled. "Won't they be closed. The weather isn't really the best."

This time Piper spoke up, turning on the charm as she pleaded earnestly. "They're open today since it's comparatively pleasant weather and the amount of snowfall has decreased considerably over the past few days. Come on Annabeth! You have to come with us."

Annabeth decided that she would forgive her friends. She was aware that something bigger was in the works amongst the others. She had been trying to get her head around what exactly all of the commotion was about, but she knew that she was missing something. Maybe she could use this opportunity to get it out of them.

"Oh alright then. Let me get my coat."

The girls hooted and cheered as a smiling Annabeth went back in to see a cheery Kylie leaning against her worktable.

"I so totally knew it would be worth it."
