Chapter 8 Taking Care Of Them

David's P.O.V

   I'm just sitting in silence in my room thinking of the upcoming war. I was broke out of my thoughts by loud growls , and howls. I looked out the window and saw them. I take off running down to Dorian's office banging on the door.  "Come in." He ordered I opened the door as I saw Dorian standing up and looking at me. "The rouges, Dorian ,they're attacking." I said. He nodded "Get all the kids and women to safety." He ordered. We nodded and we both ran out the door to the clearing in the back of the pack house. It was about an estimate of 100 of rogues they smelt horrible,  like wet dog to be exact; our pack members were already fighting at this point it was a tie.

We both shifted into our wolves and started to run full speed.  It was time, we were going to put all our anger out on that feild. If it's our last day here we're going out with a bang not a whimper. Dorian grabbed  the first wolf by its neck and snapped it within 3seconds after that he just went on a rampage. Looking around I saw our pack members winning,  I was very proud. Everything just seemed to happen so fast, Dorian froze in his tracks, he smelled his mate; we turned that way and saw her trying to get to the safe place she turned her head back for a second , that's when we saw three rouges  circling her. After two seconds one of them came  lunging for her. He let out a loud growl and pushed her out of the way , and instead of her it was him. I saw his neck being crushed almost. "NO!" Rebecca screamed rushing  over to him.  All the rouges seemed to realize that something bad happened. They all stopped fighting and turned back to the Forrest and left. I saw tears dripping down on Dorian from Rebecca's eyes. His eyelids started to get heavy and he was bleeding out fast. I started running towards them.  "Dorian!" I screamed with horror.  "Its over, we won. Please man!" I shouted letting the tears come down. All I could do was stand there thinking. Why couldn't it be me. He's my baby brother I should go first. He can't leave his babies behind they need him.  "Don't go! I love you too much, please no." Rebecca said as she stared down at him in disbelief. "I-i love you Rebecca,  i always will. There was never any one better I will always be there stay strong." He told her. Then he looked up at me and said. "A-and you David, your my B-brother and b-bestfriend,  take care of Rebecca and my pups. I trust you." Then his eyes closed and he let out one last breath.

   I looked around and everyone was looking to me for answers. I looked a Dorian's Beta. Or now my beta, and said take Alpha Dorian's body to the infirmary. And then tell the doctor to prep him for a funeral fit for a king. He bowed his his head and said "Yes Alpha David." I then picked up Rebecca and carried her to her room. I laid her softly on the bed. She scooted over to Dorian's side of the bed. I turned to leave. When she grabbed my hand. Then her small voice said, "Please don't leave me. I don't want to be alone." So I laid down on the bed behind her. I put my arms around her small frame and rested my hands on her stomach and rested my head on her pillow.  I woke up to crying. Rebecca was laying there crying. I carefully turned her towards me and her crying become harder. She said "I want Dorian get Dorian please David." Tears start to fall from my eyes and I said "Rebecca I'm sorry I can't Dorian is gone." Rebecca grabbed onto my shirt and cried into my chest. Then she cried herself to sleep.

Day of the funeral

We contacted mom and dad to tell them what happened. They came straight home. We were all seated.

"Thank you all for coming and under such unfortunate circumstances." The funeral director spoke. Everyone begins to quite down as the funeral service began. He said a few things about Dorian and then he said. "And now his mate Rebecca would like to sing a song." Rebecca got her guitar and started singing.

After the funeral we all went home. The pack Doctor says Rebecca should be on bed rest. I tucked her into bed and was about to leave when her tiny voice asked. "David will you please stay with me I don't want to be alone." I take of my shirt and pants so I'm just in my boxers. What I can't sleep in my pants. I laid down with Rebecca and she turns her back to me. I wrap my arms around her. She moves my hand down to her growing belly. And says "Dorian would always hold me like this I'm so used to it. I hope you don't mind."I shake my head and say "No I don't mind. As long as you get some sleep Kitten." She turns her head to look at me and I look down. Our lips were inches apart.
