Eren knew his death was coming closer and closer to him as his sister approached him with an angry look on her face, and he was terrified. How would he explain to her? She already knew that Eren didn't seem to fancy any girls since kindergarten and it was definitely a shock for her to see such a hickey on his skin. Her head was twitching a little and her hands were balled into fists. It was obvious Eren had some explaining to do.

"That's what I think it is, isn't it," Mikasa said. She didn't ask it as if it were a question because she already knew what the answer was, she just needed confirmation.

"I guess," Eren said with an inaudible voice.

She sighed and all of her anger melted away like a popsicle on a hot summer day. She couldn't get mad at him for having some possessive girlfriend, he was getting older after all.

"If you have a girlfriend, you should at least let me meet her first," she said with an exasperated tone of voice.

Eren almost snorted out loud from her response. His naive and protective sister, who lived with him for almost his whole life, thought he had a girlfriend when she already knew that he was bad when it came to the apposite sex. The thought of Eren having a girlfriend was an urban legend and it was too foreign.

"Sure, sure. Whatever you say," he replied and had to bite back a smile.

They continued to chat about his so-called girlfriend for what seemed like decades of lying. She has beautiful, sleek black hair and has the most amazing, grey eyes I've ever seen, he had told her. His adoring sister Mikasa believed him of course because she knew nothing of his love life so she couldn't tell if he was lying or not. Armin shot a few side glances at him. Being his best friend, he knew a lot about him and he knew for a fact that Eren was a horrible liar in his eyes.

After talking for a few more minutes. They were called down to start heading down to the theatre and Eren said a string of swears. He forgot to get his graduation robe and he was going to make a run for it. His dress shoes clacked against the pavement as he dashed inside the building and yelled a small goodbye over his shoulders. Levi was no where in sight, but he knew he was probably at his seat by now. Eren managed to find a big area where the robes were being handed out and he felt relief when he noticed he wasn't the only one who didn't have one on yet.

He was later guided to a place just outside the theatre where all the other students were supposed to meet up so that they would all walk in line formation inside. He didn't see any of his friends near him, but he managed to catch a glimpse at a few of his past classmates and smiled cheerfully at them. He could hear all the excited parents whispering enthusiastically from the other side of the big, wooden door and Eren's heart began to pound like a whole percussion section.

Everything else that happened later was too fast and blurry for him to remember. He knew that his hands were clammy and shaky when he received that diploma and for a second he thought that it was rather weird how he was forced to attend school for long twelve years just to get a piece of paper, but he couldn't be any happier. He was finally free.

The sound of cameras taking photos and people cheering couldn't make him forget the fact that his own mother couldn't attend. He was going to have to visit her before coming home.

Before he knew it, everyone was throwing their caps in the air like there was no tomorrow and he felt someone guide him out of the theatre with a firm hand. He was still in a daze but finally snapped back to reality when a voice spoke to him.

"Well done, Eren," Levi told him.

Eren remained quiet; he was feeling tired after all that excitement.
