Maia's pov

My alarm clock woke me up the next morning at 6:00 am. The second I realized that I started school today, my stomach filled with nervousness. What if people didn't like me? Would I make any friends? Would the teachers like me? Any question that could've doubted today, filled my head. I was nervous, to say the least. I got up out of bed and walked down stairs. My mom was standing in the kitchen, along with my dad, drinking coffee and chatting.
"Good morning sweetheart. Are you excited for your new school?" My mom asked

I thought for a second. Should I tell her the truth? Or lie? I decided on the truth. "Uh I'm actually pretty nervous."
"Oh honey. You'll be fine. I'm sure everyone will love you."

I decided to just not reply to that. I went back upstairs to get ready. I started with my hair by just brushing it out and curling it with a small curling wand. deciding on light makeup,  I put on some mascara and light pink lipstick. For my outfit, I pulled on my smiley face sweatshirt with a pair of leggings and black combat boots.

I grabbed everything I would need and headed back downstairs, letting my mom know I was ready to go. We headed outside to the car and was on our way.

We made it to the school, it was humongous. I made it into the school and went straight to the office to get my schedule. I made it in there and seen an older lady sitting in a desk chair typing away on a computer, she looks up and spots me.

"Can I help you?" She asks

"Uh... yeah I ... um I'm new here and I need my schedule"
"What's your name?"
"Maia foster"
"Oh yeah right here you are. We have a student that's going to be showing you around today. He should be here any minute."
The door to the office opens and a tall boy with bright red hair walks in. He notices me standing there and walks up to me.
"Hi. I'm Michael. You must be Maia?"
"Yeah that's me." I blush
"Is that an American accent I hear?"
"Yeah it would be"
"So you just moved here"
"Yep"
"Okay cool, I'll show you around today. Let me see your schedule." He scans over my schedule and then hands it back, "you have a few classes with me, and then the ones you don't have with me, you have with my friends. I'm sure you'll like them and they'll like you."  I nodded my head at him.

We walked to the first class together. We got in the class room and there were a lot of people, it took everything in me to not have a panic attack. I think Michael saw a worried look on my face because he spoke up "there's a free seat beside of me where you can set" we sat down and waited for class to start. The teacher walked in moments later and started class.

The first two classes of my first day were done and I honestly don't think they would've been as good as they were if I hadn't met Michael. He seemed like a nice guy. We had talked here and there during the first two classes and he was seriously so funny. We were walking to the third class, which was also the last class of the day with him.
"Luke is in this class with us" he stated excitedly, "I think you'll like him, he's pretty shy at first though"
"I'm sure I will" I said back with a smile.

We made our way to math class. We got in there and it, along with the first class, has a lot of people. We made our way over to the only empty seats there were, and that's when I looked up. I saw the same blonde haired boy that I had previous encounters with. Michael started chatting with him. No. This can't be luke. He said Luke was shy and he most definitely wasn't the day at the airport or the mall. Michael looked over to me before speaking
"Luke this is Maia, Maia this is Luke"
"Yeah, we've kinda already met" Luke said smirking. I sat down in the seat farthest away from him and waited for class to begin. Now that he was here, I couldn't wait for the day to end. Through the whole class, he kept throwing papers at me, but I just brushed it off and decided to ignore him. The class seemed to just keep dragging on, but by the time it finally ended, I practically sprinted out of the room. Michael caught up with me and invited me to eat lunch with him and his friends, and as much as I couldn't stand Luke, I didn't have any friends here so, I  took up his offer and walked to the cafeteria with him and Luke.
