Maia's pov

Me, Michael, and unfortunately Luke, were sitting at their table in the cafeteria, waiting on their two other friends. There was an awkward tension between me and Luke. Soon after getting our food, a boy with dark curly hair walked up, along with a a boy with light brown curly hair, sat down at the table.
"Who is this?" The boy with dark hair asked pointing to me.
"This is Maia, Michaels new toy" Luke said smirking.
"Lay off mate. You're just jealous she doesn't like you" Michael hisses back. After realizing what he says, he starts blushing.
"Why would I want a freak like her to like me? An ugly one at that."
Wow. That really hurt. I usually don't let people get to me, but for some reason he did. He was just so intimidating. I truly hated him and I didn't even know him.

"Hey. I don't know her either but you don't have to be so rude Lucas." The dark haired boy said. Without saying anything else, Luke gets up and storms off.

"I'm Calum" the dark haired boy says. "I'm sorry for the way Luke acted. He usually doesn't act that way."

"It's okay, it's not your fault. I just don't understand why he doesn't like me when I haven't done anything to him."

During the lunch break, I talked with Michael, Calum, and who I soon discovered was Ashton. They all seemed like really good people. I could tell we were going to be great friends because we all had common interests. It felt nice being around people who liked the same things. They were so easy to talk to, unlike Luke. The mysterious boy roamed my head. I wanted to figure him out.

"Hey Maia, do you want to hang out with us after school?" Michael asked.

"Uh yeah sure. I'll have to make sure it's okay with my mom though."

I had exchanged numbers with all the boys, except for Luke of course. The rest of the day flew by, and before I knew it, it was time to hang out with the guys. Was Luke going to be there? If he was I would just ignore him. The plan was, to ride with Michael to his house. But when I got to the entrance doors of the school, Michael wasn't standing there, instead Luke. He turned around and saw me.

"Mike told me to let you ride with me"

"okay" I nod shyly.
I follow him to his car. He opens the door for me,
"hop in princess" he said.
Okay? Princess? Earlier he was being a complete prick and now he's calling me princess. I've known him for one day and he's already confusing me. Once he started pulling away from the school, he turned his music on. All Time Low started playing through the speakers and I hummed along. He started singing along to it and I noticed he was a really good singer.

"You sing good" I blurted out. God. I always had to embarrass myself and not think before I say.

"Thanks." He said back blushing.

We finally got to Michaels house. We went in and calum and Ashton were already there playing video games. I joined them in playing. We had been playing games for a while when Michael stated he was going to order pizza. A while later the pizza arrived.
"Do you all wanna watch a movie?" Michael asked. We all agreed and they, of course decided on a scary movie.

By the time they get the movie turned on, it was 6:30. They decided on insidious 3. We all huddled on his couch. The movie was nearly half way through and I started drifting to sleep, lying on the person next to me.
