When I woke up I couldn't open my eyes. All I could do was listen to the steady beat of the heart monitor that started to pick up as I started panicking. Why couldn't I open my eyes? Why did I feel frozen?

"What's going on?" I hear Dean ask aggressively. Dean is here too, wherever I am. I couldn't remember much. All my memories were flooding my brain. Ones from last week and some from years ago fly across my mind and it's hard to remember what is real or a dream and what has happened recently or not.

"I don't know." I hear a gruff low voice say. The voice was perfectly paced and like nothing I've ever heard except for maybe in old medieval movies, when the royals were talk to each other.

"Can you fix it?" Dean asks frantically and I try calming myself and focusing on Dean and the mystery person.

"You said she was related to Samuel Colt." The mystery man says and I can hear some feet shuffling.

"Yes but that doesn't matter here! Just fix her!" Dean cries. I guess the mystery man was a doctor.

I didn't know that he really cared about me. Maybe he just didn't want me dying on his watch. Especially since he saves people for a living.

"I already tried too. And Samuel Colt only had one kid, Caldwell, he died decades ago." The doctor says and I wonder who they are talking about. Caldwell... I knew that name. An image flashed in front of my face of the inside of the front cover of a journal reading Caldwell "Jonathan" Colt. The letters were written in my fathers handwriting, it was unmistakable. I had not seen them recently though, although I had seen the journal only a day ago. My memory of this image was from a long time ago, I had seen it with young eyes.

"Okay maybe she just happens to have the same last name. Cas, please just fix her and we can deal with this later." Dean uses the Doctor by, what I am assuming, is his first name which seems funny but maybe he knew the guy already.

"I tried. It's not the infection that is causing this." Cas says in a serious voice. If it wasn't the infection though why was I currently paralyzed? My heart beat started picking up again and I could hear some strained shuffling.

"What is?" Dean asks sounding frustrating and shuffling around the room, probably pacing.

"Someone put up a wall." Cas tells Dean. A wall? What is he talking about? Am I dreaming?

I hear Dean swear under his breath.

"I am so done with walls." I could tell his teeth were clenched.

"I can try to tear it down but it will hurt her immensely." Cas says and the heart monitor speeds up again and I get scared at the possible pain.

It is quiet for a moment then Dean says, "Carmen can you hear us?" I try to nod and tell them I could but my body would not listen to my brain and when I tried my brain flooded with memories of all sorts. What the hell was going on?

"Carmen shows us some how you can hear us." Dean begs but there is no way to show I can hear them.

"If you can hear us hold your breathe." Cas says. Cas is pretty smart, I think to myself and hold my breathe. The heart monitor slows down significantly and I can faintly feel pressure on my neck.

"Her pulse slowed." Dean states.

"Now raise your heartbeat." Cas demands. And I try breathing quicker but it is hard so I just think about the son Cas mentioned earlier but it is not enough to raise my heart beat that much so I try thinking of something deeper.

I think about my father. After he died I had panic(!) attacks that would send my heart racing and my body numb. They petered off as I grew older but I had no doubt that, in the condition I was in, I could do it again.
