Ryder's POV

Ah hell! Why couldn't she understand that I couldn't be in the same room with her! Even with her clumsiness and stubbornness she was still hot as hell! What on earth had possessed me to think I could sleep in the same room as her! It will be fine I lied to myself. Within minutes I saw the steady rise and fall of her chest and knew she was asleep. I knew how uncomfortable the floor was and she had a rough night so I picked her up bridal style and carried her to my bed. As soon as I had my arms around her she rubbed her face into my neck and sighed. I moaned quietly. She stirred a little bit and I paused, her beautiful green eyes flickered open and a small smile graced her beautiful, plump, kissable lips. My breath caught. She was fucking gorgeous and with the moonlight coming through the window she looked unreal. She gasped and scrambled out of my arms.

"What are you doing?" She whispered breathlessly. She blushed and looked down. "I told you, I'm fine on the floor." She shifted nervously on her feet and only then did I realize that she must have been freezing. In bare feet and ripped jeans up to her creamy white thigh that I could only picture wrapped around my waist. I rid the images from my head knowing they would go unappreciated. She shivered. I mentally cursed myself.

"I'm sorry, are you cold?" I continued talking as I walked into my bedroom and came out with a pair of sweats and a grey t-shirt that would swallow her petite frame. I handed them to her "Here, you can change in the bathroom." She quietly thanked me and left. I heard the soft click of the door as it closed and purposely hitting my head on a cupboard, gritting my teeth to keep the mental images of her long legs and what they could do to me out of my head. I ducked my head under the row of kitchen cabinets resting my forehead on the heels of my hands when I heard her clear her throat. At 4 in the morning I wasn't entirely alert and I brought my head up quickly smashing it on the bottom of the cupboards. This time it was my turn to cuss and hers to laugh. She doubled over and I smiled as the laughter lit up her eyes. I had never seen her happy and it made me happy. She stopped and caught her breath. She sighed,

"I don't suppose we'll be going to sleep tonight. Do you have anything to drink?" She asked. I got a good look at her and I discreetly wiped my mouth to be sure I wasn't drooling. What did she ask for? Ah! Coffee. I grabbed a box from the counter and ripped it open, pulling out a coffeemaker. She scrunched up her nose.

"Water's fine for me thanks." She told me. I plugged in the coffeemaker and looked at her incredulously.

"You don't drink coffee? How do you survive?" I was shocked.

"NOS, mainly, and water but coffee is disgusting." She gagged.

"Well, you haven't tried my coffee."She arched her eyebrow.

"Why is yours any better than the rest of the world's coffee?" She asked, a mischievous smile pulling on the corners of her mouth.

"There is only one way to find out." I smiled and started pulling coffee beans out of the box along with a coffee grinder and some flavour shots. I told her to cover her eyes and she did.

"So did you just move in or what?" She asked with her hands over her eyes as I requested. I darted to the fridge and grabbed some milk making her latte.

"Nah, I'm moving out." She spread her middle and ring finger and peeked at me wanting more.

"No cheating!" Her fingers snapped shut. I sighed and continued. "My parents both worked for the government and were gone a lot. I was supposed to be in the care of my uncle while they were gone because they would be gone months at a time." I gave a dark chuckle. "My uncle was always drunk and well I ended up just taking care of myself. He would only do the things I couldn't do on my own. I always used to ask why my parents were never home for to see me and he told me that they didn't want to see me because I was a mistake that they had to deal with, but instead of dealing with me they just handed me off to him and now I was his problem. I told him that I didn't need him."

I sighed and continued, "And he left me to fend for myself. I've been on my own ever since." I turned around to give her the latte and I saw her hands on the counter looking at me with interest. "You cheated. Anyway someone dropped by to give us the news of my parents' death and noticed that there was only me to receive it. Because I'm still a minor it was actually illegal for me to be living alone and my uncle was going to be charged for neglecting a minor because if I had died it would've been his fault. Anyway I couldn't live with my uncle anymore because he was unfit as a guardian and it turns out that my mom made an alternate will for me in case this happened. She never liked my uncle. So now I am supposed to go to a friend of hers that she knew in high school and kept in touch with. I'm supposed to be driving out tomorrow to meet her in Boston." I sighed and looked at her expecting her to have fallen asleep after my monologue, but when I looked over at her, her head snapped up and her jaw fell slack.

"Boston, Massachusetts?" She asked. I nodded in reply shocked by her question

"Why?" I asked. She just looked at me. Then slowly started to speak,

"We're moving there, that's where we were going when we wrecked."
