Amelia stopped mumbling to herself after a while and finally decided hesitantly to go to sleep. She didn’t know how long she was actually asleep before she was woken up by strange sounds coming from outside the bedroom window.
The noises instantly shook Amelia from her slumber and she turned over in bed to see outside the window at what could be making all that noise. She sat up from the bed slightly, catching a glimpse of three shadow figures standing outside the window. The figures were trying to unlock the window from outside to get inside the house.
Amelia gasped and tried to sneak out of the bed as quietly as she could so she could run to (Name) and tell him about the men outside the window. She got up a little too late, for the men had already unlocked the window and were starting to climb into the room. Amelia got a good look at the men’s faces. They all belonged to her previous captors that (Name) had saved her from not too long ago. How had they escaped from prison, and how did they find her so quickly?
Amelia started trembling with uncontrollable fear and started running to the bedroom door to get away from them. She almost got there before all of the men grabbed her from behind and held her back from the door, and from (Name) who was the only one there who could save her. She started to kick and scream until one of the men covered her mouth to keep her from calling out for help.
She struggled helplessly against her captors. This couldn’t be happening; she had just gotten away from them. She didn’t want to go back with them, back to that life and horror that (Name) had saved her from. Amelia continued to kick and scream but there was no way she could break away from them.

(Name) rushed into his room where Amelia was sleeping, hearing her screaming all the way to the living room. He found Amelia violently tossing and turning in bed like she was trapped in some kind of nightmare. He rushed over to her and tried to shake her awake. “Amelia! Amelia! Wake up Amelia!”
Amelia screamed once more after she broke out of her nightmare. She opened her eyes to (Name) gently shaking her to wake her and regain her sense. Tears filled Amelia’s eyes and she instantly clung to (Name) with shaking hands and let out uncontrollable sobs and whimpers.
“I-I had a nightmare…..” She could barely let the words out of her mouth. “T-the men who kept me as their prisoner…. C-came back for me a-and were trying t-to take me away…..” Her whole body trembled and her grip on (Name) tightened in the fear that this was the dream and she really was being taken away right now.
(Name) held Amelia and rubbed her back soothingly to help her calm down. “It’s alright Amelia, it was just a dream.” He rocked her until her sobs quieted down and her trembling finally subsided. “I wouldn’t let those guys take you again. You know that right?” Amelia sniffled slightly and nodded.
“Thank you (Name)…” she said quietly, and was soon able to fall asleep again. She still had a tight grip on (Name) so he couldn’t really move too much let alone leave her. He sighed and resigned to lie down next to her on the bed and stay with her as she slept. He hoped that she at least felt safer with him close by.

Arthur had been driving all day, and he was starting to fall asleep at the wheel. They had made their way from New York to Michigan throughout the entire day and he hadn’t rested a wink. Matthew shook his shoulder to keep him awake. Arthur jolted back awake sleepily and started to drive again.
“Maybe you should let me take over,” Matthew said. “Or at least find a hotel somewhere where we can rest.” Matthew kept one hand on the wheel to make sure they didn’t go off the road. He was starting to worry about Arthur. He had never seen him this exhausted before, but he had been driving all day to get to Amelia as soon as he could.
“Alright…” Arthur agreed hesitantly. He hated to make Amelia wait longer for them, but it still wasn’t good to drive in this condition. Matthew was probably pretty tired too. He drove a little bit longer until he spotted a hotel nearby where they could finally rest.
He parked his car in the driveway and checked himself and Matthew in for tonight. They went to their designated rooms together and put their stuff up before going to bed. He wished he could do more before he fell asleep, but he couldn’t continue driving to Montana in this state. He just had to settle for keeping her waiting another day.

The next morning when (Name) woke up, Amelia wasn’t there sleeping with him like she was just a few hours ago. He got up out of bed and headed downstairs to the living room. He smelled something cooking from inside the kitchen so he went inside and saw that Amelia was making bacon and eggs for breakfast.
She turned when she heard the kitchen door open and saw (Name) walk in from the living room. “Good morning (Name),” said Amelia. “You got up just in time for breakfast.” She put the bacon and eggs on plates after she was finished cooking them and set one of the plates in front of (Name).
“Thanks Amelia,” (Name) said. “But you didn’t really have to make breakfast. I could have made it myself.”
Amelia sat down at the table across from him and set her own plate down. “I told you I’m going to be doing things around the house for you. Cooking is one of those things (Name).”
(Name) just nodded and proceeded to eat his breakfast, knowing there wasn’t really anything he could say or do to talk her out of it. “You’re actually a pretty good cook Amelia.”
Amelia smiled slightly at him. “Thanks (Name),” she said and they continued to eat breakfast together until they were finished. Amelia washed the plates after they finished their breakfast and (Name) turned the television on to the news section. He really did like having Amelia for company since he usually lived alone. She was really nice since he took her in. He would still be happy when she was reunited with her family after all this time.
