"Happy late birthday, Toby." The man with the glasses says as he peeks over his clipboard. I sat cross-legged on the hard cement floor with my hands clutched into fists inside my sleeves for warmth.
"Th-thanks." I grumble.

A month after my birthday, Masky and Hoodie decided they wanted to take me somewhere for 'target practice'.
"Toby c'mon!" Hoodie shouted at me. I turned towards Hoodie and Masky.
"Be there in a s-second!" I shouted back. I turned back to the person in front of me. Clockwork.
"I'll see you w-when I get back. They're getting i-impatient." I said. She smiled and hugged me gently. I kissed her cheek before pulling my scarf up and over my mouth and running over to Masky and Hoodie.
"Only you, Toby." Masky said. I looked at him and quirked my eyebrow.
"What'd'ya mean?" I asked.
"You and Clockwork." He said. I felt my cheeks burn and I thanked my scarf for covering it.
"So...what a-about us?" I asked.
"You just kissed her cheek, Toby." Masky teased. I rolled my eyes.
"S-so what?" I asked.
"Only you would catch Clockwork. She's got a weak spot for disabled-"
"I'M NOT D-DISABLED YOU SICK F-FUCK!" I shouted at Masky as I quickly pressed him to a tree and locked my axe close to his neck.
"Whoa! Calm down! I'm sorry!" He defended. He placed his hands in the air in surrender and I growled at him before letting him go.
"Masky." Hoodie looked at Masky and gave him a warning look before we continued walking down a pathway in the woods.

When we reached a clearing, I saw some very unsettling things.
One, was a figure that resembled my dad. Not real, of course.
Two, was a figure of a girl with blonde hair that looked like Lyra.
Third, I could definitely tell was Mom.
Fourth, was a little boy...they made these figures look so realistic that when I stared at the boy with the bags under his eyes and the dark expression hiding behind his long brown hair, I felt a lump form in my throat.
"H-how did you make these? And why do they look l-like my family and me?" I snapped.
"The dummies were created by Puppet and LJ. We found a picture of your family in your hoodie the other day." Hoodie told me.
"Y-you snooped in my h-hoodie?!" I snarled.
"It wasn't on purpose!" Masky said.
"Oh, so it was an a-accident that you just so happened to have slipped your hand in my pocket and g-grab the only piece I had left that reminds me of m-my family?" I shouted.
"Toby, calm down. We didn't mean to hurt you like this." Hoodie said. "We just wanted to test something."
"Test what?!" I shouted.
"Let your mind tell you what to do by looking at the dummies." I turned my head to look at the dummies like what Hoodie told me to do. The sight of seeing my father there-dummy or not-infuriated me. I clutched my axe and I swiftly took it out by cutting open its chest and decapitating the dummy.
I heaved a heavy sigh of relief once this replica of my father was gone.
"Great! Now onto the others!" Masky said as he clapped his hands. I stared at the other three before turning back to them and glaring at them in horror.
"You w-want me to kill the replicas o-of my family?!" I snarled.
"You did it to your father-"
"He's n-not my family." I growled at Masky. He raised his hands in surrender again and backed off.
"You don't have to if you don't want to, Toby. We were just curious to see what you were going to do." Hoodie explained. I slowly nodded my head before cracking my neck.
I pushed passed my friends and quickly stalked back to camp.
