Birds sung their beautiful tunes from out the window, it was a pity that I couldn't appreciate it the way I used to. My head bounced continuously in the pinball machine of life. The only thing I wanted: friendship, was the only thing that I couldn't obtain.
Suddenly, I heard a noise; coming from the kitchen. It was Olivia; singing in her voice as soft as snow. I wondered how she did it? How she made people queue up to be her friend. I was going to do it today; I was determined to make at least one best friend. "Lucy! Breakfast!" Mum shouted, "it's ok mum I'm not hungry"
"Lucy you will come down stairs and eat breakfast with your family like a proper person would!" She replied, forcing me to come down stairs. She wasn't normally like this, usually she would have let me stay in my room.I trotted down our long, winding staircase, leading me to the dining room. Beside me stood my mum and sister. "Morning sweetie" mum said, "what's wrong?" I replied, "nothing, don't worry everything's fine". What was going on? Something was wrong. My mum had never behaved like that before.
Slowly, I stuffed porridge into my sorrowful face, watching my sister glare at me from across the table. What was going on? The clock struck eight; time for school. I gathered my things and began to shamefully walk outside. All of a sudden, my mum rushed up to me and whispered, "Lucy... Listen to me... You might here some things at school... And I don't want you to listen to any of them... Promise me that"
"I... Um_"
"Promise me?!"
"Um... Sure" I replied with great confusion. What was she talking about? Something strange was going on, and I didn't really want to know what.I slowly pushed passed her and continued my journey. Nothing happened at first. Everything continued as normal. Until, after a few minutes people began to stare at me; they whispered to each other and sniggered a little.
What was going on? Had my my done something since yesterday. What could she have possibly done? I was already in enough trouble. Anything else would shatter my reputation completely.
