It had been several weeks since I met Dan, throughout that time, we grew to bond with each other; Neither of us had any other true friends. Apart from that, my mother and I grew further away. She was fully convinced that Steve was the perfect guy, no matter how many times I tell her. My sister Olivia of coarse was the same as always; the happy little goody two shoes, always out shining me in everything.
"Beep.. Beep!" My alarm shot off. Time for school. I raced into the bathroom, got ready, then slowly creeped past the hall; I didn't want anyone to see me. If mum were to spot me, it would be game over; as if Olivia were to spot me, she'd inform mum. The final stretch was coming near as I approached our large stair case. My heart pumped blood faster and faster with every second. Sweat poured down my face; drip...drop...drip... drop.
All of a sudden, Olivia appeared out of the living room, her head held high (as per usual). "Hey sis" she giggled, smugly. "Don't worry Olivia, I'm just leaving, you can soak up all of mum's attention without me to worry about" I stated, "I know, I could smell you coming down the stairs"
"what?!" I replied, "well I didn't actually smell you but I anticipated your arrival at exactly 8:46, which is now"
"Ok... I'm probably going to regret this, but, how?"
"Well when you went to bed yesterday, your head was held in a slightly lower position to normal, meaning you were tired. I then knew that as you were tired you would probably set your alarm clock for the latest possible time; which is 8:25, after that it was easy to predict your timings as you're always late for school. For you to get fully changed and ready it takes approximately twenty five minutes. I simply added this onto my first calculation."
"right..." I replied feeling extremely uncomfortable until she lent her exceedingly large neck on the door frame, "however, the question you should now ask is what's mum going to do to you after I've told her you're here."
"Olivia! Please don't say anything, I beg you, please?!"She always knew how to get what she wanted. Olivia had always been the more perfect one of the two of us, possibly because everyone let her rise to her true potential.
