My drama teacher rose out of her chair and shouted, "ok, we're going to do something a little out of the ordinary today. I want you to get into pairs", those words haunted me and still do every time they were mentioned, "get into pairs". I thought some teachers should have been more considerate for lonely students like me.
My eyes quickly darted around the room, desperately looking for someone as lonely as me. I leaped over towards a few people. "Mary, can I go with you?", she walked away. "Sarah, I'll go with you?", she walked away. "Tom?", he walked away. "Lilly, Sasha?", they walked away. No-one was left. I was lonely, once again. All hope was lost, until the door was slowly pushed open to reveal the boy from earlier; Dan was it? "Sorry to interrupt, but I moved here today and I'm in this class" he said to Mrs Gibbert, "oh yes you're Dan aren't you?" She replied as he nodded slowly. "You can go with Lucy" she replied, pointing towards me.
He casually strolled towards me; at least I wasn't alone now. "You're the girl from earlier right."
"Yep" I replied joyfully, "what are we meant to be doing?" He asked curiously, "well" I sighed, "you're supposed to be this character called Charlie who's this wannabe soccer player"
"And you?"
"I'm meant to be this girl called Jasmine who's your number one fan and would do anything to meet you" I replied feeling a little more confident. His head slowly swayed as he gazed into me. Maybe he thought I was ok?Later that day, I stumbled home to reveal mum and her new boyfriend. I began to stroll towards my bedroom, I didn't need this crap; e stopped me in my tracks. "Listen, sweetie, we need to talk" she stated, "why the **** are you doing drugs!"
"Don't you dare use that tone with me! Well... We all know that I've been a little stressed recently. And Steve and I both agreed that it was getting a little out of hand. He told me that he could fetch me something... You know, that calmed my nerves" she replied drastically. "Oh so Steve suggested it, what are you? His servant?" She stared at me, shocked by my language.I knew it was Steve; she had a terrible choice in men; the last good boyfriend she had, was Olivia's dad.
