"I miss you shawty," his deep voice came through the phone as soon as I put it to my ear.
"I miss you too," I whispered back.
"Whatcha whispering for?" Confusion in his voice.
"So they don't hear me," I cringed as soon as I said it. Here comes the interrogating.
"So who don't hear? Those motherfuckers who took you? The fuck they gone do if they hear you? Malayia have they been hitting you?! I swea bruh let me find 'em, its gone fucking go down! I'ma-"
"J.T. chill, I'm ok , I promise," I tried to console him.
I didn't tell him how they blame me for everyhing or how they pretend that I don't even exist most days.
"Alright babygirl, but forreal forreal if they do something tell me," he said seriously.
"Bet. ...Have you heard from them?" I asked hopefully.
"No its like they just disappeared."
I held back my tears," Thanks for trying," my voice shaky.
"Don't cry ma, they're alright. I bet they trying to find you."
"Yea you're right."
"Duh."
"J.T. , thank you," I say now in my feeling.
"For what?"
"For being a real bestfriend. You've been with me through all this and you're still here. I really appreatiate it."
I thought about when my brother was killed, he was there to help me. All of the times when I needed a shoulder to cry on, he was there. He helped me move on from my ex. He showed me I am better and stronger than the situation. He knows everything about me and doesn't judge me for it. It's hard to find a real friend that's why I'm glad I have him.
" What?! Malayia in ha feelings?! Aw damn its gone snow."
I laughed, "Shut up stupid. I'm serious."
"I know ma and you're welcome. Aye I gotta go I'll call you in the a.m. Love you, goodnight big head."
"Goodnight love you too." I hung up the phone, put it on the charger, and snuggled into my blankets.
