You are extremely pretty.
I bet your fiancé must be a good looking guy as well. The makeup lady told me but only did she know that I hadn't even seen Ali's Picture yet. I was getting engaged to a complete stranger and then married in a week.

Tears dropped from my eyes as I looked at the engagement dress and jewelery. I was going to get ringed in a few hours; a compromise I really didn't want.

"Meesha!" I heard papa call out my name.

It was time to head to the hall for the ceremony. My heart never pumped faster before like it did now.

All the guests danced to songs and seemed to enjoy themselves.

I rolled my eyes around the hall and then I stopped and my eyes caught attention of a guy in a sherwani (Indian groom dress). He was really good looking and was continuously smiling towards me.

"Beta this is Ali, your fiancé." Said my papa.

I was tongue tied at that time. I had expected something completely different. I thought this Ali guy would be some old fashioned and short but to my surprise, he was the most handsome guy I had seen till today. He wasn't also short but I seemed a bit taller than him. I walked towards him and gave him a fake smile pretending to be happy. I went and sat beside him and completely ignored. It had been an hour now and none of us even said a Hi. It was finally the most difficult phase of my life. The engagement ceremony had commenced and I hesitated and trembled to put my hand forward but hen bua helped me and then a beautiful diamond ring was on my left hand finger. I felt like running away from the venue at that moment. I put the ring on Ali's left hand finger as well and we were finally committed. It was an extremely awkward feeling.

Sadness encased me in its clutch as if happiness had never ever touched my feet.

At the end of it all, Papa hugged both of us and the ceremony terminated without any of us even uttering a single word.
