"Amygdala -is the part of the brain where emotions are processed. Fear, sadness, anger, joy, and love are identified in the amygdala." Miss Shizuki explained to her special science class. There's only twenty students enrolled in this class, and one of them is Mio.

"This part is influenced by chemicals like hormones." Ms. Shizuki pointed on the screen where a big 3D illustration of a human brain is projected.

"So it means spells can actually work?" Kenshin Yoshida asked, interrupting the class. He is Mio's lab partner and the president of 4-A class. They both share the same passion in studies, specially in science.

"Spells?" Ms. Shizuki raised her brow, looking at her student.

"Yes Mam. Spells, like love spell. It is made out of chemicals, so it means, that a love spell can influenced a person's mind to experience love at an instant by triggering the amygdala to react using the right combination chemicals." He stated, but quite uncertain.

"Uhm. That's a nice hypothesis Mr. Yoshida, but I doubt it could work. Although I've read different cases that claims its effectiveness." She adjusted her glasses and closed her book.

" But love is powerful emotion that cannot be tampered by some voodoo rituals and potions. It grows on its own, it's not forced, definitely not manipulated." She spoke softly. She lectured based from her own feelings and not from the book.

Then she continued the rest of the lesson.

"How about you M, do you believe in love spell?" Kenshin turned to his lab partner and asked above a whisper tone.

"Love spell? It's not even scientifically proven. Ken, only desperate people would believe it would work." Mio answered. Eyes fixed on the board.

"Well, I believe it would work. The whole idea won't be known worldwide if it's just a fraud." He reasoned.

"Ken, where scientists, I mean going to be scientists, not some quack doctors. So stop thinking about that nonsense." She flicked her pen and took down notes.

"You should really be in a debate team." He smiled, amused.

"Actually. I am part of a debate team." She bit her lip, embarrassment written across her face.

"How come I didn't see you in action?" Kenshin frowned.

"I'm always at the back stage. S-supporting them there. Kinda." She stopped short after realizing how pathetic she sounded.

"Let me guess. Afraid of large crowds?" He said with a smirk.

"As always." She sighed.

"Well, you don't have to M, your perfect in every way."

Mio flinched.

Her eyes widened, looking at him.

"I-i mean, y-your smart, genius r-rather. A-and h-have a..ummh..a beautiful....."

Mio's eyebrow twitched.

"Penmanship?" He said, sweating a lot.

"Okeeey. You're being wierd, Ken." Mio turned back to writing.

"Don't mind me. He he."
