Why am I here? It's not my fault.. I'm cursed. I cry every night at the sound of the laughing and the memory of having things thrown at me.
I fell to my knees and began to cry in the middle of the show.
"GET UP FREAK!" a young boy yelled from the crowd, throwing his popcorn bag at me.
I cried into my hands hoping that it would stop sometime soon. The ringleader cracked the whip against my back making me scream in pain.
Again..why me..what did I do..to deserve this?
A worker shoved a plate of rotten food into my circus box and bagged a metal pole onto the bars of my cage.
"WAKE UP AND EAT!" He ordered walking away.
I woke up quickly and saw the food at my feet. It wasn't very appetizing. I gave out a sigh and curled up into the corner. I watch lions practicing through hoops of fire and elephants being poked with sharp sticks when doing something wrong. The people here don't believe animals have souls. They don't believe I have a soul, but I look like them..except I have horns sticking out of my head. But those horns don't mean anything, they're just there. I'm mistaken for a beast and an animal. A terrifying freak of nature who doesn't deserve to have love or care..who only deserves to be locked in a cage without clothes and laughed at. I haven't worn a piece of clothing for as long as I can remember. If anything..humans don't have souls.
The ring leader glanced at my cage and saw my untouched food.
"Aren't you going to eat?" He stared at me.
I just looked at him with no expression.
"Fine but don't complain when you're hungry" he sighed.
The show was going to start soon and I didn't want to go out there. I don't liked to be laughed at, and certainly don't like to be punished for doing something wrong.
I laid back down and closed my eyes until it was time for hell to start up again.
