Circus Monster

Breakfast

I woke up to the smell of something amazing! Quickly, I got out of bed and came out to the loving room.

"Toby?" I scanned the room.

"I'm in here!" He shouted from the kitchen.

I ran into the kitchen and saw him flipping this white patty.

"What is that?" I tilted my head.

"It's a pancake! I'm guessing you've never eaten one." He smirked.

I shook my head and continued to watch. He put the pancake on a top of the others that were stacked on a red plate. He took the plate out to the dining room and set it on the table. I followed him and then sat down. I noticed that there was also a container of this gooey brown stuff. He sat across from me with a smiling face.

"Thats syrup.You put that on the pancake so it will taste better."

He gave me a plate and set three pancakes on it and then poured the syrup all over the top one. Hesitantly, I picked up my fork and made my first cut into the pancakes. I slowly put them into my mouth and began to chew. It...it was..SO GOOD!! I scarfed the rest down wide ease. Toby's eyes widened as he saw me eat them all in ten seconds flat.

"Were they..good?"

"Delicious!" I burped a little.

He chuckled and began to eat his. Once he was finished, he took all the plates into the kitchen, including the syrup. I could hear the news channel playing in the living room.

Reporter: This just in! A dangerous creature has escaped the circus last night! If you see a girl with horns, please report it to this number. Thank you for listening.

I hanged my head low and sighed, tears welling up in my eyes. Toby came to my side and shook his head.

"You're not dangerous,Willow. Just like everyone else in society they're judging a book by its cover. Don't listen to them. You are beautiful and I'm not letting them take you back there." He rubbed my back.

"You promise?" I looked into his eyes.

"I cross my heart."
