You can stay

It started to pour rain. Toby turned on the radio and kept driving. I looked out the window and saw many things I've never seen before. Lights and people filled the streets, buildings lined them holding different things inside. This was so exciting! I am finally able to see the world that was hidden from me for so long. Maybe one day I could be accepted by humans, and maybe one day my curse will disappear. I would no longer be a freak or a beast. How to break my curse is what puzzles me. I was never told how I could, I was born with it. The day I was born was the most shocking. I was pushed away by my own mother. Do you know what it would be like to finally have a baby but when you looked at her..she had horns? You would probably think she was a demon. My mother thought that..after I was born she became depressed and didn't even want to look at me. She said the biggest regret was pushing me out of her body. I heard her say that to my father a couple days after they gave me away. When they sent me off to a orphanage my father kneeled down to me and said

"The doctor thinks if she forgot about you..her depression would go away.."

I have never gotten those words out of my head since that day. They have haunted me, making me feel even more like a monster. I really didn't mean to upset my mother. If anyone I thought my parents would accept me the most.

Toby pulled into a driveway and smiled as he turned off his car. He got out and opened the door for me. He unlocked the front door and we both stepped inside. Once I came in a dog ran up to me and started to jump.

"Gryphon no!" Toby said sternly to him

I giggled at Gryphon. He was so cute and to be honest I've never seen a dog like that before!

"why don't you have a seat on the couch and Ill get the first aid kit" he said disappearing into the hall.

I gently sat where he said to and waited. I looked around and his house was just as messy as his car. He had many cameras laying around along with a bunch of papers. He quickly ran to me and kneeled down. Taking one of my arms he put some liquid on a cotton ball.

"Now, this is going to sting a little" he said sincerely

I nodded and prepared. He slowly pressed the cotton ball onto one of my scratches and held it there. I winced and looked away. He was wrong..it stung more than a little! He gently took it off and put a banad-aid on it. He did this to my other scratches as well. Once he was finished he smiled at me.

"Let's get you some clothes huh?" He said standing up.

He disappeared back into the hall and came back with a large T-shirt and some boxers.

"These should do for now.."

I grabbed them but..like I said, I haven't worn clothes for as long I can remember. I didn't know how to put them on. He giggled a bit and put shirt on me along with the boxers.

"There you go!" He smiled "Do you have a home?"

I shook my head "no..I don't actually."

"Oh.." He frowned "well I guess you can stay here then!" His smile popped up again "You can sleep in my bed, and I'll sleep on the couch!"

"A..bed?" I stuttered "no I couldn't..it's yours after all.."

"You're my guest and I want you to be as comfortable as possible!" He took my hand and stood me up.

He showed me to his bed room and patted his bed.

"I just changed the sheets today so it's all clean!"

I was still processing this whole situation. I have never been in a place like this or have had feelings like this in a while. I looked around his bedroom and smiled. I laid down in his comfortable bed still grinning.

"You can stay as long as you want..I really don't mind" he said tucking me in. He kissed my forehead and smiled "goodnight Willow..have sweet dreams.." He turned out the light and walked out of the room, slowly closing the door.

I felt so warm inside. I was finally accepted by someone and that Someone is Toby..
