Chapter 7
Mom stood before me, menacingly. I looked in horror, as my head filled with gibberish. I couldn't recall any words to say. My mind was blank but filled. I don't know why it shocked me so much but it did. "Mom?" My voice came out in a whisper.5 hours before
I stood tall. Tall so that somehow, deep down I wished, I wished I would not be hurt if mom was in that building. If mom wasn't doing experiments in there. Unforgivable acts. The wind swayed everything back and forth, the trees rustled its empty branches. The greying sky looked gloomy and garish. They stood beside me, in hope as I glanced around the giant building. Cameras filtered the walls. There was no doubt they knew we were here. I clenched my fist into a tight grip and my stomach knotted into several different ways. I bit my lip as Crash looked towards me. "Ready?" He asked."As I'll ever be," I replied. My heart beat faster than a person could clap their hands together. We all took a step towards the building and I knew that this day, today would be the moment of truth. I squeezed my eyes shut as I blindly walked towards the entrance.
"You may have the same personality but damn your fighting skills have come to an all time low," Dallas commented. My eyes snapped open and I turned my head towards him, giving him the meanest glare I could. "Please, that glare was of a little kitten," he waved of. He gets me so irritated. Surges of anger rolled off me like waves crashing against the shore.
"Will you quit it Dallas? You're not helping. Ada- Lelia, stay on guard. Don't ever forget about your surroundings," he commanded and I nodded.
"Well, sorry geez," Dallas mumbled. I sighed at his replied as we entered though the sliding doors. Before we knew it, we were surrounded. I was on high alert, as were the others. As they caved in on us, my brain went into panic mode. Red lights flashed in my head as I kicked at the empty air. They both looked at me in confusion.
"Just... Pretend you never saw that? I panicked," I suggested and Dallas let out a cry of laughter.
"Not a chance," he teased. I huffed and kept my eyes on our opponents. They closed in and our space became even more limited than before. I couldn't work out a solution. I tried to scan the area but my mind came up blank due to my panicking. My hands shook as sweat formed in deadly beads. One came for me and I went into position. He aimed up at my stomach and I tried to block it but ended up failing. My breath was knocked out of my lungs as I let out a struggled breath. My eyes went wide as I watched the two in action. They were amazing to say the least. I bit my lip as I got back up. My labored breaths blended into the loud background. The guy came at me once again. All of a sudden, a plan popped up into my head. Before I knew it, I darted towards the side and charged at the guy.
"Don't you have manners. They say never to hit a lady," I snapped, out of no where. I didn't know where these words came from and it felt like I wasn't controlling myself anymore. The guy grunted as he got up but I was before him in a flash. I flipped him over and knocked him out. My mind drew blanks of what I did. What did I just do?
"No time to be daydreaming lets go," Crash snapped me out of my shocked daze.
"Nice to know you still have your moves," Dallas commented. I looked at him with wide eyes.
"I don't know what I just did," I said, automatically.
"Come on, of course you did. If you didn't, you wouldn't have done it," Dallas said, unconvinced with what I told him. I let out a sigh and stared at him.
"I, honestly, don't know. I never have beat a single person before," I admitted. They came to a complete stop and turned around. Their faces were pale and there jaws dropped to the floor
"Seriously?" Dallas spoke up. I let out a slow nod, unsure of what to say.
"Unbelievable, it's like what your mom did to you made you suppress your fighting skills. Now that you haven't been having it, you've been gaining it back," Crash mumbled to himself. We walked along the walls and we came to a stop when we reached a room.
"What were you tal-" I was cut off by Crash when he signaled me to be quiet. I walked towards the opening to get a glimpse of the scene when I froze. There she was. Mom stood before me, menacingly. I looked in horror, as my head filled with gibberish. I couldn't recall any words to say. My mind was blank but filled. I don't know why it shocked me so much but it did. "Mom?" My voice came out in a whisper. "It can't be," I said in a strangled voice. I knew it but I didn't want to believe it. There the girl laid. She looked so thin and fragile. Why? I scooted back as I shook my head. I tripped on something, letting out a yelp. I heard a series of footsteps heading to the area we hid at.
"Lelia?" Mom asked in surprise. I looked up at her in fear as Crash went for his sister and Dallas walked towards me. My mom's head snapped towards him and a sudden sneer replaced her shocked one. "Get away from my daughter," she hissed. She turned towards me as her hard gaze softened. "Let mommy explain," she said. Tears brimmed her eyes but I shook my head. What she was doing was sick and twisted.
"Get away from me. What the hell have you done?" I asked as I shook my head. Mom's eyes went hard and her posture went rigid.
"They are bad people Lelia. They will poison the land with their behavior," she pointed. I knew deep down she was lying, I just didn't want it to be true.
"So you tortured her?" I asked, disbelief evident in my voice.
"They are not supposed to be alive, they are poison!" She shrieked. I shook my head still. My head pounded as I clutched. Memories flooded and flew by. "You're remembering... No! You can not!" She yelled as she pulled out a sickly colored needle much like the one that time. She charged at me as I got up, wobbly. Next thing I knew was that I was on the floor and Crash lay on the floor, unconscious. Mom stood there as Dallas knocked her out. My eyes started to droop and the vision started to fade.

Dallas's Point of View
"Crash," she called out in a whisper before going out of it. I ran towards her and picked her up."Adalynn, wake up. Stay awake, please," I begged as dread filled with in me. She has to stay awake. No signs of her waking up. Damn it. I lifted my head up to see the damage, once more. I looked to see four bodies littered around me. Guards came rushing in. Crap, we are so screwed.
