Its been six years. Six years on the road. Six years alone, fighting his demons. Six years, without seeing you.
Sam was a mess. He barley slept, he didn't eat as much as he should've. He needed to see you, not just a picture. The REAL you. Even if it was just for a few minuets. Sam figured you didn't move, you lived in the same small town your whole life, so that was where he went.
As he pulled into the small town, he noticed that nothing has changed. The library where you two would read up on lore was the same. The coffee shop you'd always sit at was still up and running. Even the pet shop where you were planning on adopting your first dog hadn't changed. The old memories of you two were playing out as he passed each building, making tears weld up in his eyes. He never should of let you go, but he's glad you're safe.
He parked his car in the library parking lot, deciding to walk towards your house. It was only a few short blocked, but if felt like he was walking a marathon. He was nervous. What if you wouldn't even let him in? He'd already prepared himself for the fact that you'd probably moved on.
His heart was still missing a part.
You.
Through these six years of torment, his heart was missing a huge chunk. Getting closer to your house was slowly healing the organ. Sam was finally on your street. His hands began to shake in glee, and his heart started to beat faster. He was almost there, so close to you. Sam began to run towards your house. He was finally going to see you again. The first time in six years! He couldn't even contain his excitement.
He sprinted, and sprinted, a huge smile on his face tears of joy running down his face. He ran up your driveway, hopped onto your porch, and stopped. He ran his hands through his hair, running them down his face, and landed by his thighs. He shakily pressed the doorbell, a ding echoing in the house. As he heard footsteps, his smile grew wider, if possible, but it faded when he saw who opened the door.
Sam was expecting to either see you or your new boyfriend, but he didn't expect... this... Behind the door was a lady with tan skin and long, brown hair. Definitely not his (Y/N).
"Um...Hi. Is (Y/N) (Y/L/N) here? I assume your her friend, right? She might not of mentioned me, I'm Sam. Sam Winchester?"
The lady's faced turned confused, "I-Im sorry, but there hasn't been a (Y/N) (Y/L/N) living her for a while. Just me."
Sam was taken aback, "Oh, how long has she been gone?"
The woman thought, "Well, since I moved in. About six years ago."
Sam felt a cold sweat spread across his body, "S-......six years...."
The woman smiled, half hidden behind the door, "Yes, sir. Im don't know how you knew (Y/N) but-"
Sam interrupted her, "Wait, you knew (Y/N)?"
"Um, yes."
"How?", he rushed.
"Its a small town (Y/N). Everyone knew about what happened to (Y/N)."
Sam paled, "W-what happen to (Y/N)?"
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, (Y/N)." Sam began, "Its been a long time! I... I want to say, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving you behind, all those years ago. I'm sorry for not even giving you a reason. It was the only way to protect you."
Sam looked down and swallowed the large lump in his throat, "I know theres nothing that I can say to make it better. I know what I did was unforgivable, but... I just want you to know... how much I love you." his voice cracked at the end.
"You were always there for me, but I wasn't there for you. Especially when you needed me. Oh God, (Y/N), if only I was there... I could've done something! I could've s-saved you, (Y)-(Y/N)."
Sam breathed in sharply, trying to drive the tears away, "I... I love you, I've always..." he sniffed, "I've always loved you. And I know, there were times you've doughted it, but please, please (Y/N)... never forget it..." the tears were now freely running down his face.
He looked down, "I brought you your favorite flowers. I hope you like them (Y/N)."
Sam set down the crimson roses down. Tied to them was a silver band with a small rock on it.
"I.... I was going to ask you... if you would've forgiven me. Its too late now, but remember (Y/N).... as long as I'm living, as long as the stars still shine, as long as theres still light in the world, I'll always love you. Forever, and always... (Y/N)."
Sam bent down and placed a kiss of the headstone, "I know where you are, and I hope you're happy there."
"Goodbye, (Y/N)."
Sam walked out of the cemetery.
Just keep running Sammy. Thats what you do best.
