Parker walked down the hallway to the dining room where her Uncle was waiting to eat dinner. She had moved into her new room and was quite pleased with the way things had turned out, so far. She took her seat and dinner was set on the table.

_____

After Austin had gathered his small array of belongings he made his way up the hull from the slaves quarters to the main house. He entered the back door and walked into his mistresses room. He walked through the door and his eyes widened. He had never spent much time on the house and was amazed by the beauty of the room. He opened the door Colin told his was where he would be staying and found a long rectangular room with a bathroom on one end, a two. bed and wardrobe to furnish it. He put his clothing into the short wardrobe and set his photo of his parents on top of it along with his mother locked and a small teddy bear that had been his younger sisters. After reassuring himself that everything was there he left the room and went back to the quarters to get dinner. he grabbed a plate from the central area and walked back to the male hall. The place where all the male slaves slept was literally a long room, empty but for the beds, one to each slave with a box underneath it for belongings. Austin sat down against the wall and began to eat. As he had almost finished eating another boy approached him. He looked up and bit the insides of his cheeks nervously.

"Hey Sissy."

The boy, Sailor, had nicknamed him that tauntingly years ago. Him and jus gang of boys had called Austin that for years, taking a jab at him and reminding him of his sisters accidental death 6 years before.

"Saw you moved your stuff. Where you going baby?"

Austin gulped, remembering the times he had been sexually abuses by these boys in the past.

"I'm not staying here anymore."

"Oh really? Why not?"

"I don't know that that's your business."

"Better believe its my business!"

Sailor yelled and he kneed Austin's right cheek, causing him to fall against the wall, dropping his plate to the ground.

"Hey!"

The loud voice of one of the older men caused Sailor and his gang to retreat. Austin stood and walked back to the central area wre he found Vanessa, the prettiest girl on the place, and his girlfriend.

"Nessa."

"Well hello there Romeo."

She said as he took her into his arms and planted a kiss on her lips.

"I missed you today."

She giggled at his remark.

"Well it seems you lived."

He smiled down at her and released her from his grip, taking her hand into his. He lead her over to the windows and they sat down on the pain, looking out towards the vase fields where they had both worked many hours.

"Look baby I have something I need to tell you."

"What's wrong Austin?"

She asked taking lifting his hand to her face. He took her cheek into her hand and moved closer to her.

"I'm not staying down here anymore. Or working outside."

Her eyes grew large.

"They're selling you?!"

She cried. She couldn't believe it. She loved him, they couldn't take him away from her.

"No, no calm down."

He said running his hands through her short blonde hair.

"What then."

"They've told me to be the personal slave for Parker Ryan."

She looked up into his eyes. She wasn't sure how to feel, this could be great for him, he could even gain freedom after a time, but on the other hand he could be beaten for no reason, or even killed.

"You promise you'll come visit me."

"If I am ever able, it'll be the only thing I do."

She smiled up at him and leaned up to kiss him. Just as they broke they were approached by Feris.

"Come."
