The suitcase felt even heavier as Parker pulled it out the open taxi door. The cabbie popped the trunk and pulled out the three others, everything that Parker had was in these cases, at least anything she cared about.
"That everything?"
"Wait my guitar!"
Parker had almost forgotten about her father's guitar, she slid the case out of the taxi and pulled the strap over her shoulder, she paid the driver and he sped off, leaving her to whatever fate awaited her in this place. Parker turned around to observe her surroundings. She saw a large house, with luscious green grounds, the garage off to the right and a path leading around the left side of the house. The cab had dropped her off just at the door.
I wonder where everyone is.
She thought to herself, Nate knew she was coming. Nate had always been Parker's favorite Uncle, that was why her father had chosen him to be her legal guardian if he died before she turned 18. The thought still hurt her, it had been two weeks since his funeral, but she still couldn't believe he was actually gone. She was one of the few that survived the plane crash, but she didn't know why she had to live, if he died, it wasn't fair. She had spend days cursing at God because of what he had put her through. She would never understand, she felt abandoned, by her dad and by Him. A tear slipped from Parker's eye. She quickly wiped it away as the front door opened, revealing her beloved uncle, arms as wide as his smile, waiting for his hug hello. She ran into his embrace as some of his slaves cleared her luggage and began to carry it into her new room.
"Want to take a look inside?"
Parker nodded, she had been to Nate's house before but she and her father had never spent much time in their home country. He lead her inside, the house was extravagant, with chrystal chandieiers and huge windows letting in the natural light. He led her down the long hallway and into a door on the right. He opened the door and Parker couldn't believe her eyes.
