Gina: What do you mean y'all can't put a "Missing Child" report out?!
Commissioner: Ma'am, for the fifth time, I told you that the person, whether they are a minor or an adult, HAS to be missing for at least 24 hours before we can do anything. That INCLUDES filing a "Missing Person" report AS WELL AS conducting a search party.
Gina: What type of bullshit is that?!
Commissioner: Ms. Payton, I'm going to need you to watch your language.
It was a little after 11:30 that night. Gina was at the police station, trying to get a "Missing Child" report filled out for Chantel. Even though the law was the law, she still wasn't having it. She wanted this report out ASAP. She didn't want to imagine that the unthinkable has happened to her daughter. That's why she was trying to do whatever it takes to make sure that the public kept an eye out for any sights of Chantel.
Gina: What about Ray? What are you going to do with him?
Commissioner: To be honest with you, Ms. Payton, we can't do nothing with him.
Gina: ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?!
Commissioner: I thought I told you to watch your language, ma'am.
Gina: And I thought I told you to fill out that damn report, but you ain't did that yet!
Commissioner: Look, I know you're upset about your child being missing. I wish I could help, but until the 24 hours lapses over, there's not a damn thing we can do. All we can do for the time being is wait.
Gina: That's it? Just..... wait?
Commissioner: Yes ma'am. And pray that she's safe wherever she's at.
Gina: Fine. But why can't y'all do anything to Ray?
Commissioner: He's innocent until proven guilty in court.
Gina: I can't believe this. I KNEW he was no good. After I FORBAD her to see him, she still did. Now look. My child is missing & I don't even know if she's alive or not! *starts crying*
Commissioner: *hands her a tissue* You still have about 11 & 1/2 hours before we can fill out the report. When it becomes EXACTLY 24 hours, I'll have my guys on it. You have my word, Ms. Payton.
Officer 2: *comes inside the office* Commissioner, we need you in room 5.
Commissioner: I'll be there in a minute. Let me finish up in here first.
Officer 2: Yes sir. *leaves the office*
Commissioner: You can leave if you want, or you can stay & listen from another room & hear what Rayan has to say.
Gina: I'll stay.
Both the commissioner & Gina leave the office. He takes her to the next room that's connected to room 5. Between both rooms was a one sided glass mirror. Gina could see & hear Ray, while he couldn't see or hear her. The first officer stays in the room with Gina, & the commissioner goes into room 5 with Ray.
Commissioner: Rayan Lopez. *sits down in front of Ray* Age 19. Arrested several times for drugs & assault. When they called me & told me that they arrested you again, I honestly thought that it would be for the same charges. You mind telling me why you're back here again?
Ray: They got me in here for suspicious activity & foul play.
Commissioner: Hmmm. That's very interesting.
Gina was listening from the next room. She looked at the commissioner dumbfounded, then looked at the officer in the room with her.
Gina: Why is he acting like this? I already told him everything in his office!
Officer 1: That's just his strategy, ma'am. He does this to get more out of the suspect.
Commissioner: Tell me, Rayan-- what are you doing being involved with a minor?
Ray: I love her, & she loves me. I would NEVER do anything to hurt her. NEVER.
Commissioner: Her mom & sister thinks differently. And to be honest, *leans over* so do I.
Ray: For the first time, I'm actually telling the truth, damn it! I don't know where Chantel is at! I was the last person to talk to her! I PUT THIS ON THE BIBLE!
Commissioner: Where were you two supposed to meet?
Ray: The mall. I was going to get something for her there, then take her out to lunch for our 4 month anniversary today. Plans changed cause I'm here instead of being with her.
Commissioner: So if I get the detective to pull up your phone records, her number would be the last one you dialed?
Ray: *leans forward* Yes. I called her to ask her where she was at. She said she was 10 minutes away. Hours passed by, didn't hear from her. For hours, I called her phone. Twelve times! No answer. No callback. NOTHING. I even texted her. Still no reply!
Commissioner: Okay. I'll have the detective pull up the phone records right now.
Ray: *leans back in his chair* You do that, then.
The commissioner calls the detective in & tells her to run a phone record report from Ray's phone. He sits back down & continues to talk to Ray.
Commissioner: I wanna know-- are you telling me the truth?
Ray: Swear to God.
Commissioner: *nods his head*
Ray: You still don't believe me?
Commissioner: Nope.
Ray: Since we're being honest, I feel like Baby Dee got something to do with this.
Commissioner: What makes you think he got something to do with this?
Ray: The night he & the Eastside Boys got arrested, he told me, "This ain't over." He probably got Chantel!
Commissioner: Even if he does, we still have to clear you first.
Ray: I understand that, Commissioner. But I just know that I'm innocent!
Detective: *comes back inside* Here's the report, sir.
Commissioner: *takes it* Thank you. *reading over it*
Ray: Well?
Commissioner: I got to admit; you were right.
Gina: *yelling in the next room* THE FUCKING LIES!
Ray: Told you!
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, in an abandoned warehouse, the Eastside Boys were there. In the middle of the warehouse, was Chantel, tied up to a chair & mouth taped shut.
Martin: What are we gonna do to her?
Chantel: *muffled screaming*
Baby Dee: *slaps her with the end of his gun* SHUT UP! Before I kill your ass!
Chantel began praying in her head. She didn't know if she was going to be alive for long or not.
