It felt like a long ride to school. I couldn't help but think about how anxious Maria was to get me out the house. And how she packed my school bag and told me her nephew, Carlos, was going to pick me up.

Ahh, Carlos! I remember him! He was hideous hen we were kids. He was 3 years older than me and he had a crush on me. Bleh, anyway...it was strange. I checked my phone. One new message. I opened it , expecting one of my friends complaining about their hectic morning.

"Aye it's Carlos, call me when you get out. "

Assuming Maria gave him my number, I simply replied:

"Ok."

I cringed at the idea of this hideous boy yelling my name in front of my friends. Talk about social suicide.

Pulling up onto school property, I waited for the limousine driver to open the door. As soon as he did, I got out.

Then, instead of normal walking, I strutted to the door in my variety of prestigious uniform required to be worn. Tight Khakis, a white button down shirt, a navy cover-up embroidered with the school's crest on it. Did I forget my black sneaker heels? (They are so in right now.)

I slung my backpack over my shoulder and made sure my phone was secured in my back pocket. Once I entered school started for the day. Making my way to my locker, everyone went silent and let me through. One particular girl in all black everything stood in my way, staring down at her phone.

"Can I help you ?" The girl asked, still staring at her galaxy mobile. I gave her my known "Have you lost your mind?" look. Everyone held their breath.

"That's my locker" I said, rolling my neck Tyra Banks style.

Just then the bell rang, signaling everyone to get to class or suffer the consequences. The black-clad girl moved without saying another word, eyes still glued to her phone.

I grunted and scrunched up my nose as I put in my locker combo. It opened as creaky as always and a note attached to a lily slipped out, a number in sloppish handwriting written on it, and a note on the back "Hit me up -B" . Assuming it was from Bryan (my future), I locked it in my phone, glossed my lips in my mirror, gathered my books for the day, admired the gorgeous flower and walked to class.

"Ms. Jones," My kooky biology teacher said without even lifting her eyes from the board she'd been writing on.

"Sorry Mrs. Kowaski but, on my way to class, I found a lily and just had to stop to appreaciate the beauty of its nature," I said, batting my eyes more than I usually do, knowing how much of an nature lover she is.

"Wow" , she gawked "Okay, but next time--" I tuned her out, not really caring what she had to say. I took my seat designated in the center of the classroom. Nobody would dare sit in my seat. I felt the cold but admiring eyes watching me. Tiffany, my absolute bestie, checked her reflection and puckered her lips before turning to me.

"Omg freak alert at four o'clock!" I turned to see the new girl taking notes and watching me from the corner of her eye.

"Did you see her shoes?" Tiff groaned in a hushed tone. I looked down. Spikey black wedges. I didn't really find any fault in them, I would wear them and the whole school would be wanting some, too.

"Pretty flower! Who's it from Bryann?"She teased and I blushed , today was going to be memorable.

"Good morning, class! Let's get started for the day!" Our teacher said enthusiastically. Way too excitedly for us sleep-deprived, would-totally-rather-text-our-friends teenagers.

After biology, Algebra 2 and French, it was free period. I put my bag in my locker and headed to our usual table. Our school was divided into classified groups.

You have your scene kids. nerds, jocks and cheerleaders and then you had my crew . Top of the food chain. You had popular (jocks and pom-poms) and then you had us. We controlled the school and I was the Alpha dog. Did I mention the school was named after my dad and he owned the school? And I've done things to make my name known. Ha, Mess with me. I dare you.

I swept my eyes across the room. I caught Bryan's eye, and he almost made me melt with his warm brown eyes and deep dimples. I texted him in attempt to flirt.

"Nice smile kid (; '

I watched him until he got the message, and Tiff caught me ogling. I looked down blushing.

"His warm brown eyes, his silk chocolate hair, his deep, deep, deep, deeep dimples, his body (which came out more like BAAH-DAY), his FACCEE!" Tiff said, emphasizing "face" in a teasing and terrible impression of me. Not that I've ever said any of that.

I felt my olive cheeks get hot. I turned from him to where me and Tiff were face to face ready for the daily scoop. We waited for the other "uses." Once Zack (My ex. He cheated on me with Bryan's ex now), a few other boys that are fine but have peanuts for a brain, and some girls who compare themselves to the cheerleaders and crack-head skinny models. Society. What a shame.

So as soon as we all met up we started the daily. I checked my phone. When I unlocked it someone strong and muscular came behind my came behind me and took my phone . I panicked knowing Bryan's scent. my heart batted a mile a second.

''Ahh , there's another Bryan in here? Nice flower by the way." I closed my eyes when I realized he was joking.

"Well, I'm under loser," I smiled to his nickname I gave him in the 7th grade. I opened my eyes to a flash. Everyone was posing except me .

"Oh my gosh, I hate you!'' I said flirtily, jumping to get my phone back. Bryan chucked and said, "oops!" while taking like 5 pictures before he blinded me and I fell.

"Ahh!" I screamed, but he caught me before I fell. Here I was, face to face with a boy I dreamt about. I'm kind of glad our gf/bf cheated on us. Thanks Tracey and Zack ! I stared at his eyes, caught up in the moment and giggled.

"What's so funny?" He chuckled, staring down at me.

I looked around us.

"Business, Get some!" I yelled at the silent cafeteria.

Everyone resumed their conversations .. I turned back to find myself lip to lip with Bryan. I loved the way he tasted like minty-chocolate. I couldn't stop smiling at the looks. We gained quite a hell of an audience. A lot of people clapped. Tiffany took lots of pictures. Brandon smiled and snapped a front cam pic of us.

I kissed Bryan's cheek and took my phone. I turned to take a front picture with my mains and new boyfriend. It's so funny, all of us so cheeky and happy. Then I happened to see the girl from the hall walking towards the Boys' locker room, looking suspicious.

"I'll be back," I said. Everyone returned to their conversations as I disappeared into the hall so they wouldn't think I was crazy going into the Boys' locker room. I passed my locker and decided it would be too much of a hassle to come back so I got it and went to snoop out the girl. That's when I heard the first shot.....
