I. EXCERPT

"There's only one person who can bring about wintertime, and it isn't Santa Claus. I think it's about time Jacqueline Frost got involved in this preposterous fairy business."

II. DISCLAIMER & AUTHOR NOTE

This is not a Rise of the Guardians fan fiction. I do not own the long-existing, fantastical ideas that are Jack Frost, Mother Nature, Father Time, Santa Claus, etc. I do own the plot line and specific characters. Any replicating or otherwise copying of this story is theft and will be reported.

III. STORY NOTES A.K.A. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO BEGIN

In this story, fairies are miniature creatures with wings that help along with the course of things, i.e. the seasons, day and night, etc. Fairies tend to have one specific job / power and stick to that area of expertise.

The fairy land / realm exists largely in great forests throughout the human world, though magical barriers prevent humanity from interfering with them. Magic is also required to enter them, though that doesn't tend to be an issue for other beings of legend.

Mother Nature can cause spontaneous acts of, well, nature, but maintaining the seasons requires too much power, hence the fairies' enrollment. All the same -- she and Father Time are the general leaders of the rest of the Earth's legendary beings. They have been around the longest, and by far are the most powerful. They're also the most respected . . . in most situations.

Oh, and Jack Frost is actually Jacqueline Frost -- a lovely lady.

(Also, please keep in mind this is all preliminary information, and by no means covers all of the magical creatures and beings mentioned in this story. The rest of them should be adequately explained throughout; this guide is merely for the sake of some initial knowledge.)
